Couple questions about pets
Whats the strongest pet to grow as a combatant? I grew a bone dog from a pup to an elder and it has an extremely powerful attack but it doesn't seem able to dodge or block.

I see there is a few animals to get so I thought i'd try a goat but i'm not sure if I'm wasting my time.. Are they worth it as a fighter to raise a goat? Whats it used for normally a pack animal or meat?

Also can I train them to 100 for attack and such? Or close to it? Do you think humaniod companions are better for combat besides carrying items ect but just fighting?

No animal can Dodge or block. Humanoid unit will be better at fighting. Best fighting animal to keep is Garru imo, huge hp.

Bulls are also absolutely ridiculously strong once you train them. Garru and Bulls can both solo anything in the game. The downside is that you can't equip them with any of the neat stuff you'll make or find.

Vanilla pets aren't too impressive.
Bonedogs are a bit too much of a lightweight. Bulls, garrus and crabs can tank a bit better and got decent aoe, crabs are slow af.
Goats are just the weakest pets.

In general i consider animals second class fighters due to lacking armor. reducing incoming dmg by ~80% makes you outlast them easily.

If you look at all animals, i'd say boneyard dogs are the best. Leviathans tank better, but attack at a glacial speed. Beak things run quick and can tank a bit more.
Boneyard dogs can tank decent, hit hard, hit quick and run quick.

Wild bulls are best,

I hear some people just park bulls infront of their base, because they do splash damage, that combined with turrets nothing survives lol

I didnt know you could have pet leviathans, where do you get these traveling traders?
Also wouldnt the crabs be able to level up their athletics by running around with you?

In vanilla you can't, that why i didn't include them under vanilla pets instead listing under "any animals". With mods, you can have anything as pet.

Crabs cap at like 15mph or less.

I also want to think of them as emergency food, especially the goats, but the game won't let me.

Elder bulls are freaking OP imo, so much so that their stats compared to humanoids seem to almost operate in a completely different way. Insane damage plus AOE. If you let 1 or 2 survive long enough for their stats to come at decent levels they are insane
