Also i´m unsure what 100% means here. The max strength gain for walking is 50% at 70% encumbrance - or have i overseen something? You mean in combat?
Else instead of starving You can simply add more weight for the same effect. Also when You mine iron You don´t move. Usually i only go for like 10 - 20 strength so i can carry my stuff without being slowed down, while carrying someone somewhere i need to go anyway, with the loot of these guys - and a big backpack to occasionally sell the stuff - and then when i have a base i would "train" strength to the desired level. When You set it to public You will have 4 NPCs there, who always walk around - and when You set someone to follow them as a job, You can leave the base, he will eat, and when You come back he has like 80 strength, depending on how long You were away, while also having easy access to iron ore - and don´t have the problem that Your guy accidentally tries to go into the wrong building like doing that in some other town. The hub has the problem with some enemies there, so You can´t just leave someone there without watching for him...
I would rate high strength as very low on the priority list. Useful for blunt damage, a requirement for certain weapons, and to carry armor and stuff around. Having a high quality weapon, which requires high strength means less xp - and for example having someone with like 80 strength and a handmade Edge 1 plank will deal like 150 damage on each target, while he hits like 5. And as with most skills it slows down drastically above 85, but i haven´t seen the need to go higher so far. For that perhaps having a mod could be useful - but i´m unsure if reducing strength helps. It´s based on the encumbrance, no? It´s not like the actual combat stats, which basically use the actual in effect value instead of the "real" value. Or does that apply there, too?
I mean that doesn´t change - or does it? Because strength is not such a skill about the stronger enemy logic, which gives more or less XP depending on the skill level.
Or to phrase it in another way:
Does it only change the encumbrance, or does it also change how fast You gain skills?
To phrase it in an additional way:
When You already have have 50% - or in Your case 100% strength gain - is it faster if Your strength is lowered? Or is it still only about the base skill level?
Thanks for clarification - i was unsure, but thought the same.
