dust king in jail, what next
last time i played this i setup up a base below the hub at a crossroads, and it was a nasty fight for survival and i didnt get anything done.

this time however i managed to get a gang of 16 together, 5 of them sheks with huge weapons and pretty good skills, like 20 - 30 in melee, defense, toughness.

im just curious where i should head next, i know how quick it can turn south and im trying my hardest not to save/reload but rather roll with it.

Much of the fun of this game involves exploring and figuring things out for yourself, so I don't really like to say much more than "bring food".

It doesn't hurt to scout out areas before dragging your full team in to a new area, because your slower units will tend to force your faster ones to get entangled into fights that you otherwise could've legged it away from.

There will be plenty of fights you should leg it away from.

If you're still around the Border Zone, going to the swamps would be perfect, it's a subtle escalation, not so difficult, but a little harder than the Border Zone. A few ancient labs, libraries, plenty of bandits, towns, organized gangsters, gamblers... It's perfect, as a matter of fact it's natural to go to the Swamps after finishing up the Border Zone

Or Alternatively going to Purple sands and then into cannibal territory after finishing the border zone is also pretty good, got some labs here and there, most cannibals are weak fighters so if you handled dust bandits, cannibals won't be so bad.

United Cities in the great desert, although difficult to get to since there's the holy nation, acid rain, and death lasers in the way, is a great place for early-mid game, though the nobles and samurais can be landmines or hidden blessings, since in vanilla they have a very diverse interaction with the player. samurais can kill you for fun, or be your bodyguard and escort you to a local town, and that's if you're still having zero relations with them, since samurais vary from being unfathomably corrupt, to surprisingly generous.

Anyway, plenty of choices, just pick one and roll with it.

Also P.S the samurais in the south wetlands and the hook are more corrupt than the ones in the great desert, random patrols will often approach and attempt to extort the player, and upon refusal will attack. While samurai patrols in The Outlands, when finding the player alone can sometimes offer to escort you to the nearest city and wishing all the best.

Explore the world.

Train up to good skills (~70) and start on taking out more dangerous enemies.

Overthrow a goverment or 3.

Capture a couple of elder beak things and make your own arena.

Become an ally with one/some/all factions.

Research tech.

Become a master smith/crafter.

Always running away makes things boring. There's nothing that can catch you if you really want.

if you took out the dust king, the black dragon ninjas aren't too far away from that and are also a nusance.

I've almost completed exploring the whole map, thats whats fun for me, I tried making bases but found them boring, I only have a house in town with 4 people doing tech and some money

Now my goal is to destroy and slaver cities (the area north east desert towns) and rid the continent of these slaver scums

I'm not sure if i'll have time with BG3 coming in 4 days...

BG3 looks awesome. I almost can't wait

I kept playing, and found myself in Admag in Stenn desert, I recruited a couple more sheks but ran into three spiders that disabled a few of my guys, so I stayed at the shinobi tower while they healed up a bit.

I then went south, and am in a sort of valley just west of the swamps. I dunno why I am so terrified about going in there, but I plan to penetrate the swamp and meet some of the factions there, and also find those Black Dragon's the guy above mentioned - I remember them threatening my first base, so maybe its time for some payback.

Nearly at this point. Got 2 people smuggling for like 50k every 2 game days. Crew of 19.

Hire 11.

Make base.

Find 100% list of all bosses etc. and misc. things

Finish, Kapow. Not bad because I just start yesterday this new game and have an Outlaw Swordsman in the team with friendly bandit relations.

Finding these named rare mobs is indeed really fun, ive encounter only 4 as of now

Has anyone been able to kill the South Hive queen? That area has to be the worst, a narrow valley with many many patrols of 15ish mobs that can see you from miles away... My group of 5 can take on big groups with no problem, but not there because of the non stop reinforcements... I struggled my life just to try and exit that area, what a nightmare!

All up to stats and gear.

Sneaking in and just ko'ing any named npc is an option too.

Hi Klutch, since you are already base building near the Hub, check out this location in my screenshot. It is on the border of vain, so you can plant vegetable and wheat farms and they have good growth rates and never need to be watered due to all of the rain in the Vain biome. You can also grow cactus right next to your base in the Arid biome. You have the Hub, Stack, Hive Village and Squin to buy and sell at, all very close. It is a nice base location, however you do get Prayer Day, Dust Bandit raids, and Ninja raids.
