Having good stats.
Be quicker.
Be stealthy.
Have a ton of xbows.
Decent stats on pets like bulls.
Be a skeleton and be not edible.

Maybe carry sacrifices you picked up along the way.

thanx
the most of the squad made it but i recruited Shryke in mongrel and it was hard to escape with her because she was very slow ant they always took her
so i had to reload the game about 5 times or more and finally she made into the direction of vain
so only fast and strong members ok ty
but these fogmen are so many and they are spawning like crazy
and what about lanterns ? is it better without a lantern equipped?

Keep moving as you can. Fast = Good...

Crossbows are good weapons as they're the only thing that can overcome the 1:1 combat model in vanilla. If you don't have any really experienced crossbow users, use Toothpicks or Rangers, only.

Fogmen don't use armor, so Katanas are excellent and are easily attainable, preferred-status, weapons against them. (Fast attacks are nice to have when one is swarmed.)

Roving packs will attack. Fogmen taking part in "worshipping" around a totem with a victim strapped to it are pretty focused on... dinner.

There are two decent ways into the region, one from the Southern edge and one from the Eastern edge, near HA territory/bases. The rest have some issues and, as a result, may be more dangerous paths. (Southern edge is best, IMO, for getting through that part of the territory to Mongrel.)

The longer you hang around to fight a group of Fogmen, the worse its going to get. That's especially true if you're going through there for the first time or if you've sat around near certain cells, allowing them to start pumping spawn groups into the area. As you're moving through and if you engage in combat for very long with a small group, others are likely to show up and add to your problems... So, don't do that.

Fogmen use blunt weapons so they can take prisoners. Only Princes carry swords. Armor that is good against blunt is obviously "good."

Once you reach Mongrel, there's good support there for a group that's looking to use the streams of fogmen for training. (Food, a couple of buildings to buy, money to be made from fogman loot, especiall Princes, and some recruits... )

Well. I heard standing bright light makes it very easy to sneak, just like screaming. /s

You could do some str training and simply carry too slow members. Wooden sandals help a bit too.

Imo straight west from the mongrel is the quickest and easiest way in. Its just usually not the side you're at, so quiet some extra footwork.

A good strat is to also take a downed fogman and place him on a pole. They will attract others to come and feast. While they're busy chomping away make your escape

Move at night. Whether sneaking or not, you're harder to spot at night. Don't carry lanterns (or unequip them for the run).

Keep your camera zoomed out and constantly panning around. Keep your speed less than the fastest game speed. Terrain bumps block line of sight, so if you stay in a tight group, and spot fogmen coming from far enough away, it's often pretty easy to quickly detour and duck behind and outcropping or hill and activate stealth.

Unless you over level the area, fighting = losing, for all the reasons mentioned above.

Sometimes you get seen and chased anyways. Letting one person fall behind isn't death for them if you have a good enough thief in the group and enough dark night time left. It's entirely possible, albeit difficult to rescue someone. Being able to pick them up and not be encumbered is definitely a boon though.

Speaking of which, if you have only some slow people, you have some options there.
- run around mongrel and train athletics
- make sure no one is encumbered (sell or redistribute stuff to remove encumbrance)
- carry the show people using fast people that are strong enough. You might have been able to dump crumblejons gear onto someone else and had him, or someone even stronger, carry shryke

hire tech hunter, with the cost of just 2k per day they can wipe any enemy that come in your way, 2 team of tech hunter can wipe a holy nation army with inquisitor as the lead...because most tech hunter group have that guy with 80+ in melee

There are several ways to get through any area that may seem rough in Kenshi.

1) Get that athletics up. Outrunning everything is the easiest and safest way to get through any area. Only beak things can't be outran, but even then, as long as you can run at around 20mph they'll rarely if ever be able to hit you as long as you just keep running.

2) Get your strength up. When you get a fresh recruit in a dangerous area, have your strongest character pick them up and carry them out of the area. Once your in a safer zone, put the newby down and have them follow along to get their athletics up. Even if your strength isn't good enough to avoid being slowed down from the extra weight, it'll still be faster than running a character with stats and skills under 20 through the area.

3) Get your sneaking up. Stealth is OP in Kenshi, once you get it to a decent level you can sneak through pretty much anywhere. NOTE: Don't wear lanterns while sneaking... or in general if you want to go unnoticed by most threats.
