What is the point of prisoner cages
I captured a manhunter in hopes of selling them. I took all of her gear and put shackles on her before locking her in a cage. A slave caravan recently came to my town and I tried to carry her over to him to sell but that was not an option. Never thought I'd ask this, but what is the point of imprisoning someone if I can't sell them?

People can be sold to slaver bosses in slave shops. I don't think any other slaver NPCs buy them.

Lots of uses: you can imprison someone and use them as a living training dummy. Or you can use it to temporarily store a guy, fe. over night, before taking them to get their bounty. Or you can just keep people as pets XD I hear some players are running a sort of gladiator arena, where they capture enemy NPCs and then release them at the same time.

Side note: a very popular mod allows you to recruit anyone who is in a cage.

You can only sell them to a "Slaver Boss" type of npc.

I second the reply on a Recruitable prisoners or recruit all mods. Also TameBeasties is for animal recruiting. All of those need any restraint (prisoner cages or such) to be used for conversion/recruitment xD

Should be noted that putting someone with a bounty in your cage counts as time served, so if you keep them in there too long they will count as having served their sentence, nullifying the bounty. You can see this when you hover over their bounty when they are in a cage.

there are mods that harvest things from people bodies so healing and keeping fresh enemy's to turn into food and leather later is a reason to have cages. Before mods I just like to kept them as trophy's on the verge of starving. Recently there is a mod that allow's your people to eat caged people live like the fogmen.

Also there are certain people you can't sell to the slavers, one of them being a manhunter as they are allied with the slavers. (the last time I remember trying it just did not happen so I fed a whole group to the gutters in gut and ran off with a few eggs)
