I just ended up building more wind generators, lol.

right you cant find it too?

Ya, and even with 3 wind generators I am finding there is still power outages.
Yemumblows Apr 4, 2016 @ 2:27pm
because if wind goes down your wind generators dont function i have a regular generator just incase

Right, battery power is for saving power for when the wind is not there.

The problem is we can not find where to get the capacitors to build the batteries.

yeah i know but thats why i just built a generator for now that supplies steady power

I can not speak for the OP, however I can speak for myself.

I do not want to build a generator right now. It just creates another supply chain to manage. The generators are always going to run and always require fuel whether you need the power or not. Then either the fuel goes to waste or the wind generator is a waste.

the small wind generators don't supply much.. but much more reliable.. not actually sure if they stop at all, i haven't really payed attention. But every time i've seen the big ones stop spinning the small ones are still going..

I used three small and still end up without little or no power.

Just needs batteries to make the difference.

Hmm, I've checked a lot of traders and towns and I don't recall seeing such an item at all.

Had the same problem with finding a motor for the robotics bench.. Don't believe either are in any store.

A work around/glitch: Build it, save the game, then import to a new game. It auto builds any structures.

I have seen motors and capacitors in Waystation, which is the starting location for the Freedom Seekers.

The game currently seems to be balanced around forcing you to explore. Freedom Seekers are meant to start their own outpost; so all the necessary parts for that are nearby but you will have to research and build you own training dummies as there are none available near Waystation.

If you start in one of the other areas, you have access to the training dummies right away so you can train yourself up then make the trek to Waystation and buy your outpost parts.

The small wind generators are always running from what I can tell, they are also cheaper to build than the larger one. if I recall correctly a large one takes 20 iron plates and 2 circuits - supplying a max of 50 power, while a small one only takes 7 iron plates and 1 circuit supplying a max of 25 power. I have found that my small ones always run no matter what, even with no wind they generate a tiny amount, dont know if this is intentional or bugged.

Also generators themselves are fuel efficient, kinda, they will reduce their consumption rate if there is more than enough power. I suggest building your biggest most efficient one and turn it on when you notice outages, its easy enough to buy/steal fuel.

The smaller wind generators always have some dead time, where they produce 3 power or 0 power each.

I wanted to avoid having to micromanage a supply chain or lose manpower to auotmate it. Especially when the fuel tank is currently bugged so it only holds 1 fuel.

Maybe a solution to this is to strap a really large backpack on someone, load them up with a bunch of fuel and shift-click the generator to make it a permanent job, hopefully they would sit there and fill it up when needed like farmers do with farms and wells?
