The Fog Islands, my last hope!
No for real though they might be my last hope because the Holy Nation isn't so Holy. So they attack me on patrol basically for having women in my party and my female characters will even comment about it as the attack is commencing. So I face palmed and decided that wonderful little nook I found near Bad Teeth isn't such a good idea. SO I thought to myself "I'll just go be like Mongeral and live in the Fog Lands!" except something has occured to me and I need some quick help. Fog men I'm not worried about I can subvert those sneaky lil' bastards. What I'm wondering is if anyone has found an alright spot in those mysterious misty lands. My main thing is being able to mine, food and what have you I can manage with poopy yields if I must. Help me escape them evil bucket heads! :steamfacepalm:

They get upset at my women rarely ( i think its mostly a couple specifc NPCs who mentioned having had trouble with Holy), and i always get out of it via verbal discussion (fake pray). I try hide my ladies identies with head gear that mentions obscuring identity so they dont get bothered (seems to work)

Your best bet might actually be further south near the hive villages. You might be able to find a place or two with iron and copper. As long as you're not hive yourself, you should have no problem with the vendors there. The wildlife can be a bit dangerous, but if you have a decently sized group you should have few problems.

Unfortunately, there aren't many options for neighbors in the current (stable) version of the game.

Hive is good as long as you have other races in your group for trading, but is short on good iron locations and has some nasty wildlife. Even for trading, their selection is mostly limited to raw materials without many blueprints, so you will still need to venture into holy lands.

Holy is good if everyone in your group is human and male, and is probably the easiest area to build up if human and male... But if you have others in your group, you will have a bad time.

Rebel/Hub/Waystation is good if you're wanting a shot at real freedom. It doesn't have much in the way of trading, but has a good variety of resources and environments... As long as you don't mind bandits.

Mongrel doesn't have much of anything. The town itself is livable as long as you have money or a group large enough to venture into the fog to gather up iron clubs to sell. The surrounding area however is wasteland, no farming, no resources, no wildlife, just fogmen.

People say Hive is good, but doesnt Hive only have supplies vendors? I dont think I ever saw anything but 2 'market' buildings in each of their towns so I dont get why people like the area (aside from the sweet sweet eggs)

Mongrel has the best weapons shop ive seen in the game through hundreds of hours (although I havent been to a town north/west of it yet

/I set up camp on the southwest corner of the green lands and never have an issue with the holy, not having done anything to piss them off except have women (whose faces I cover) though as long as I say the right thing they dont ever attack

The nests can have decent loot besides the eggs, and 100% copper nodes are everywhere. Also, I believe hive traders are the only traders who sell ancient science books, and it's easy to merchant between their villages, if you record what each village's prices are, chances are you'll find items that can net you a lot of money. Lastly, the area is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ beautiful.

I am playing a group of 30 ladies, if you tell the holy jerks what they want to hear you should be fine.
I think everybody is forgeting about worlds end , pretty good selection of stores , maybe not as good as mogrel but it is decent , plus the lands east of it ,northeast of blisster hill are pretty good for farming

I live in the fog lands, in a very nice location, good enough wind.
I have several batteries and 1 generator for emergency.
100 copper 100 stone 100 ore just a short distance NE of Mongel atop a plateu, Water is down in a small valley, all crops work except rice. a lot of natural defense with just a few paths to block off ( i have 0 walls or gates) large open flat area to build on.

Holy Nation have rude reqactions to women in general.

However they will openly attack ANY race that is NOT Greenlander.

FOGIBALS! RUUUN!
I find that if i just play along with the Holy Nation, and mention Orkan, Im usually ok. I find the fog a bit to thick sometimes. When I returned to Kenshi the first few games I started, i spawned in the Fog lands, and thought it was a bit glitchy, but uninstalled and re-installed, so that it works fine.

Only thing ill say is that, ive got two fogmen in my squad, but i cant rename them... Not sure if its a bug or a mod bug, as my current game uses the 250 squad size mod.

My outpost is in the fog, a valley right on the edge. Has copper, iron and 60% water level in the lower areas. Can grow all crops well enough on top of the mountain ridge except for rice weed. It has 2 hills with 2 seperate wind systems. So if the wind dies on one there is a chance it is still blowing on the other which is useful for wind power. I have never had any holy visitors but I do get the occasional hungry bandit and fogmen come through.

Unfortiunatly it does NOT have stone resource in that valley. So that stuff has to be built a bit far away.

Don't you have pathing issues with a so broken land?
And no swarms of 50 to 200 fogmen yet?

I live in the borderlands, just outside Vain. I got access to 100% copper and iron, 100% stone, 60% water, and wind power is quite good. Only things that bother me are hungry/dust bandits, wild dogs, and a gorilla now and then. There is a hive village a short walk from the gate, and I can make runs to stack if I have to.
