Kenshi
Escaping Rebirth, A Shek's Tale of Slavery, Stealth, Stealing, and Starving
I went with ther Wanderer start, chose to be a Shek, because Humans are boring, right? Apparently, these choices are heavily looked down upon by The Holy Nation, and guess what town I started in. The one, the only, Blister Hill!

Upon having some random, armed Shek appear in the middle of their town, the guards came down upon me like a wave. Within seconds I collapsed from the storm of swords that quickly ensued. Being the kind guards they are, they patch me up, then ship me on my way to Rebirth, otherwise known as Hell on Earth.

You can guess how that all went. Typical slavery stuff, mining, processing, I think you know the deal. Quickly after I understand the whole deal, I begin to train in Theivery, via escaping my imprisonment, then throwing my self back in while locking the door behind me. Rinse and repeat, I got to the point where I had max chance at picking any lock in the prison.

I also trained is stealth through various means. I tried to sneak around in broad day light as often as possible, which helped suprisingly much. I also used my new-found skills of lockpicking to sneak around at night, which got me frequently beaten up. Durring my excursions, I disarmed as many guards as possible each night, stripping them of swords, armor, and medkits. Here's where things start to come together.

With most guards thouroughly useless in combat, I started a somewhat nightly routine of escaping my cell, grabing some gear, and having night fights. I almost always lost, however through around 50 days of this routine, I got skilled enough in various respects, such as Strength, Toughness, Dexterity, Cleavers, and both Melee Combat skills. With my newfound not-sucking-at-fighting, I actually won fights.

Now comes the disapointing bit, in multiple respects. The main disapointment for me is I realised that I can't leave. I'd starve in the hostile kinda-wasteland out of the camp. There's no food, at least that I can find, in the camp, except for one place I haven't checked. Most prisoners stay in the lower area of the camp, which I have basically total control over due to the guards lack of weapons and my skill, however there's a top area with 2 building, and the main enterance. I decided that was my best bet.

Now, here comes the most disapointing bit for you, the reader; I haven't enacted my plan yet. I have yet to attempt this. I'll leave more of the story down in a comment. Expect the comment in a few hours.

Good luck then !
And watchout, the world beyond is dark and full of terrors.

Had a similar start with a Shek in Bad Teeth, and one of my fondest experiences actually.

When I finally broke out of the cage I snuck out at night only too find the gate guards at each enterance way too powerful for me to overcome and way to fast for me to out run. So I hid in the ruined tower during the day and at night I would venture through town stealing equipment and food slowly bettering my situation. One day a fight broke out at one of the enterances with some traders and the guards from the other side of the city rushed to join. I knew it was a one time chance and dashed for the open wastes finally being free of that wretched city. Spent the next few days on the lamb with a large bounty on my head until I found The Hub.

I could see how that start might frustrate other players (maybe a pop up warning when starting with a non human character), but for me I thought it was a fantastic start, really set the tone for the world I was living in.

I have been successful.

My plan worked! I snuck up to the upper area, knocked out and disarmed all the guards, found a meatwrap in the main building, then, well suited with some of the best equiptment currently available to me, I was free as a bird. Well, I thought I was. My intro to the world propper was less than friendly, to say the least. Upon leaving, I scarcely avoided detection by an elite Holy Nation patrol.

I decided the best course of action would be to head South, to The Hub. The journey was, overall, pretty nice and relaxed, however I did get myself into trouble. I encountered a Hundry Bandit group, and them being weak, me being strong, I decided to attack. Wrong choice. While I dealt them some significant damage, I was thoughly mangled. They also took my food, however I evidently didn't need it.

I continued on through the temporary hardships, however while I was passing through the area near Stack, a group of dogs attacked me, and with little strength to fight back, they knocked me out, sat on my half-dead body for about half a day, then eventually wondered off to attack a herd of bulls and get killed.

I also got introduced to the Dust Bandits while just a few hundred meters away from The Hub's glorious walls. I got knocked out for a few hours, however luckily nobody took my gear. Upon waking up, I limp to the town, get into the bar, purchace some food which is immediately devoured, then head upstairs for some bedrest. This is where things start looking up.

I with me as great as I ever felt, I talked to some of the people in the bar. A guy asked to fight, I gave my patented response of, "Sure, why not?" and his group stands up, then promptly kicked my ass. This is where my week long struggle with them began. Over a period of days, I slowly weakened them, those fools not having medkits to bandage up, and eventually I was able to beat all of them up and sell their stuff to the barman.

With my new influx of cash, I decided to start a little setllement a bit away from the Rebel Outpost. Nothing much happened while building the town. I'm now (probably) fully self sustaining, besides bandages. I have a mine and procesor for making building materials, a farm and well, and a house with a research thing in. All in all, things are looking up for me. Tell me if you want to here more about my time in Kenshi.

You sound like the kinda guy who'd enjoy the Cannibal Hunters start. Have to pick your way out of some cages after your inevitable initial defeat, and then hope that you don't get eaten before a Berserker or Shrieking Bandit patrol happens by and aggros the Cannibals to let you make your escape.
Nice ! Yes more , now let see if you survive the dust bandits harassment since you already deep in their terrytory.

A wall build a wall!!
Hmm wait, walls are useless, run away if you are attacked.
I can't wait for season1 EP3

Alright, another! (I might just keep continually posting my story here.)

This past section of play has been a bit of a jumble, so some events might not be exactly in order.

With some self-sustaining basics of a settlement built, I started to test to see if I could survive on purely what I farmed. The answer is kinda. What I discovered is that people hate me. I could easily survive on the setup I had as long as I leveled up my farming skill, if not for passers by. Whether Starving Bandits, Dust Bandits, Slavers, or even Outlaw guards, they all hate me. Let me just put a paragraph for each of them, and my issues I've had.

First up, the Starving Bandits. They're weak, but their constant raids and numbers are greatly annoying. Especially when I've just finished a harvest, they appear, half the time I fend them off, though they have a chance at victory. They take my food, then I gotta go to the shop and buy some instead of having the insurmountable satisfaction that is self-sufficiency. While annoying in this respect, they're absolute pushovers in combat. Depending on my condition going into the fight, I could win against ten of the sods. At one point, I killed so many I had corpses piling up at my door.

Now, we move on down the line to Dust Bandits. While similiar to the Starving Bandits in frequency and even combat standards, they at least don't take anything. They just like beating me up. If I really don't want to fight them, I'll pay the troll's toll for my safety, which makes them actually somewhat easier than SBs. They're more rewarding if I do fight them as well. If I defeat a few guys I can make a thousand or two, which lets me pay off somemore rounds while I heal.

Lets leave the worst to last, and skip to the Holy Nation Outlaws. I've only encountered trouble with them as of late. For whatever reason, if I mine this one iron deposit for refining (Yes, I built an iron refinery now.) if they see me they want to fight for whatever reason. They don't want to fight other wise, just when mining that iron. The leader of a patrol said something just before attacking, however I couldn't read it because I was in timewarp, as you do. They're really just pushovers, however they're one of the many thorns in my sides.

Now, the most dispicable people on earth, the Slavers. I loathe their existence. What they do that annoys me is that they hate me wearing their clothes. I took a helmet and pants off a guy who went down in a fight between them and the DBs, and since the game thinks that I'm trying to disguise as them, they attack me upon discovering that I'm not one of them, which they immidiately do because I'm not trying to disguise as one of them via having a full suit of their armor. So many times they come by when I'm fighting someone, or even doing a normal task, and they attack me because of this thing I'm not even trying to do.

With all these little things annoying me, I wonder if I should just leave. As the saying goes, "Shape up or ship out," and I'm wondering which I should do. The first option would take a while, however it would just kinda go with the flow, with natural progression it would happen. The second option, there's multiply obsticles. I would have to pack as many things up as I could and then set up shop somewhere new, or just deconstruct it all, sell it, then travel light, and just travel place to place. Feel free to comment on what to do, and reasons for doing it.

Where can I swing by and pick up some allies?
You say you were in the Hub before , did you found anybody willing to join you?.

If not then do a quick run to waystation southeast , you will find somebody for sure in there.

And yes keep it coming!

If you wanna train your sneak to the max, build a small house in vain near some beakthing nests and sit inside while sneaking, easy training
Papasaurus Rex Jul 7, 2016 @ 3:02pm
Sneak can be gained inside a city or any npc holding even if friendly. Just go sneak around any npc doenst matter how they feel bout ya it goes up qick to start, put it on warp speed and ran between a character and a set distance in a Holy city and hit like 20 in 15 ish min

You have a chance to find allies in bars and sometimes escaped slaves can ask you to help them if you agree they will join your group.
2 days ago, 3 of them asked me to help them, but i had no spot open in my warband :(
