How do I wipe out a bandit camp?

Everyone's dead, but this camp still lingers just outside my walls that popped up a couple hours ago....what do?

Check the map. Hover your mouse pointer over the camp icon while zoomed in. It will give you details of what population is left. Most likely still has a patrol out walking around. If not im not sure might be buged.

After you see massage that bandit camp is cleared just save and load. Worked for me.

yea had to wait a few days for the patrol to come back then I went back and wiped them the dust bandits no longer camp there anymore.

Yeah, there will be a mouse-hover, IIRC, that shows the camp's "population." Once that is zero, it will deteriorate and will get erased on the next respawn cycle, IIRC. A save/load could force that if the pop is zero, I think.
