Blunt weapons are so heavy that they don't even seem worth it.
The higher quality blunt weapons are ridiculously heavy like a heavy weapon, and I'm wondering what exactly is the trade-off here? They do less damage than heavy weapons and don't have the same reach. So why do they have to be just as heavy as them? They seem like a noob trap weapon compared to Hacker.

they are good because blunt damage if you want to take prisoners for example.. as a offensive weapon maybe not if you want to kill as fast as possible.

Taking prisoners is very easy with other weapons, heavy weapons have plenty of blunt damage on them and if you are killing enemies too easily, you can just simply use a weaker weapon to knock them out. You can heal people too after they're knocked down. So that just makes blunt weapon useless if that's its only use

I personally hate blunt weapons but those high rated ones are worth equipped

Which ones? I made this thread because I saw them and questioned if they're worth it. They're WAY too heavy, almost exact same weight as heavy weapons, and their modifiers seem significantly less.

Heay weapons are more favourable, look at the grades. Anything that is high grade or special grade should be used, standard grade is crap

I'm at the scrapyard right now with 100,000 cats, everything there is high grade. I have choice between masterwork weapons, equally graded blunt weapon vs heavy weapon and the blunt weapon is looking severely outclassed by the hacker & heavy weapon.

They're good against heavily armored foes. Bashes right through it. Blunt effects how much damage you do. If you want to level up the blunt stat quicker, use a weapon that does nothing but blunt damage. Use an ancient rusty old jitte and you'll level up blunt pretty fast. Then you can really crank the damage up a notch when you get to using heavy weapons like planks or frag axes. It goes by how many hits you land in a fight - so use crappy old weapons to make the fight last longer and you'll level up faster.

Cleavers & Plank due to how the game is designed are at the top of the food chain so it's only normal you get that impression.
As for Blunt weapons, i still highly recommend you give at least the Spiked Club a shot. It does massive bleed damage, and it simply doesn't really care about armors in general.

Now that's numbers and really just minmaxing to a degree.
Skill level becomes so dominant at some point, the type of weapons you use really is up to you.
So i'd still recommend you use whatever you like the best and stick with it.

That's part of the reason I hate them so much and refuse to use them.

I don't care HOW hard the fight is, I'll just use the Katana / Wakazashi and Longsword / Desert Saber backed up by Naginata and Crossbows for main combat use. I do use Jitte and Bo Staff too occasionally, but that's generally for RP, training, or to change things up.

I'll try out spiked club, I just wish these weapons didn't weigh so much to compensate for being weaker. That weight is brutal.

Need about 50 strength to swing it comfortably while still retaining the option of heavy armor.

I have tried spiked club, I'm not noticing the bleed damage but it does a lot of damage to armored enemies. Although I'm also noticing the crossbow completely obliterates armor. (I one shot holy paladins from out of view with the masterwork crossbow)

Officially dropping blunt weapons after that. Although I guess they make sense as a off-hand weapon but Idk, the weight isn't worth it. I want better attack speed than this.

i like to use all the weapon classes in my party. but even i don't have a dedicated blunt user. i gave my crossbow users jittes, because they have a nice defense bonus for when they get forced into melee. but other than that, there really isn't a point to them. other weapon classes are just better.

I had 4 dedicated blunt users just to try it out, I remember it being useful like 4 years ago. I deleted my save just now lol and starting a new game, screw blunt weapons.

waaaait how is attack speed calculated for weapons? I just tried 2 different blunt weapons, and one has double the attack speed even though I have enough strength to use both without being encumbered.

How are the attack speeds calculated for weapons? I equip a 28 KG Spiked club with 33 strength and get an atrocious 0.43x attack speed.

I equip a 10 KG blunt weapon and get DOUBLE the attack speed. I'm not encumbered at all, I unequip everything else on my character and the attack speed still drops to the point that the damage increase isn't even worth it.
