What mod do I change to alter character stats?

I had to update to the experimental version because the fog was too extreme in the current one. Now I'm trying to figure out what file I need to be in to change my starting guys stats. Does anyone know? I don't want to go around changing files left and right without knowing what I"m doing.

When opening the FCS choose the new mod option, it's not a good idea to change the game files :)

In the FCS, click on Characters, then Stats. Then, either change the stats of an existing set of characters, or copy it. Then, alter them and give it a new name.

Next, go into Characters, choose the character you want to replace, remove his stats and add your stats in. When these characters spawn again, they will have the stats you want.

Now if you want to change the stats of a character you already have in a game, I am not sure how to do that.

Also, there is a great video on youtube that explains how to mod Kenshi. It s only about twenty minutes.

Oh I misunderstood what you were asking.
There are different starts with different characters. In the FCS you have Game Starts that lists all the starts, when you open one you have all the infos including the squad, for example the Rock bottom start has the "start - rock bottom" squad. You can directly double click to edit the squad directly, or make a new squad and use it.

Then you can do as mbraxt said to set the stats you want to the character(s) in the squad of the start of your choosing
