These guys have saved my in game life more times than I can count, they also set up field hospitals where you can: rest, heal, and buy medical supplies. Don't piss them off though, they're banging martial artists.

Sorry one more, this allows you to have a wider range of options for buying buildings within towns, allowing you more space to set up ops in a raid free environment, behind your chosen towns walls and guards.

Slopeless is a must have for me, not just because it lets you make prettier towns, but because vanilla building placement can lead to quite a bit of frustration trying to find that one perfect pixel where your building can be placed.

I liked this until i started to notice that every camp spawn was medics. I run a pretty light mod list, so i was at a loss trying to figure out why it was happening and ended up removing it.

Any indoor farming mods are great as well, if you don't feel like dealing with managing an outpost.

I'd sort by "most downloaded all time" and subscribe to everything on the first page or 2 that isn't a total overhaul mod. All of the all-time very popular mods bring something great to the table. Good luck! :)

if you don't want to search for hour what mod use just go with genesis mod , its basicaly kenshi+ , many enhancement of game

Don't forget the mod manager! Search for Kenshi ModLoader, it's on a github.

Vanilla Kenshi is sufficiently engaging, I'd stay mostly vanilla at first. Add mods one at a time when you encounter bugs / gameplay limits you can't stand (for me, that's Attack Slotx x3, Squad 256, etc.)

Don't forget to look at GoG, sales are on at different times and can still access/use steam mods and nexus. And before the drone whinge arrives, wake up people! Spread the game buying goodness, use two different middle men and avoid monopolies.
