Feed yourselves!!!! Idiots!!!
Several of my companions have simply stopped automatically going to the food store tocollect food to feed themselves. I retruend with my battle hardened party from an ancient lab raid to find one of my farmers was almost dead from starvation and had simply stopped feeding himself - like wth??? He had done it fine up until this point.

What's going on . ... . ???

Never had that issue myself, the only thing i can imagine right now (i feel i have a chain of command issue on the tip of my tongue?) is that their inventories are too full to withdraw the food?

inventories not too full, they never did this before, looks like youre right and im gonna have to get the no hunger mod. sigh,.
Percival Oct 12, 2016 @ 2:40am
but with a no hunger mod, whats the point of npcs like starving hungry bandits, sigh
Erei Oct 12, 2016 @ 2:48am
I did have an issue in an old experimental but it was fixed the next day. I have no issue so far with food, unless 1/they do'nt have enough room in the inventory for food 2/I sent them to use a turret/dummy and I forget to tell them to stop.

Just to be on the safe side, give them food manually, see if that change anything.

I once had 2 guys who went "hungry" for some reasons, gave them food manually, they never had the issue again. RP wise I say they were just too absorbed in their work (one of them was my weaponsmith, making gorgeous weapon).

ya, once irealised he almost starved i gave him a load of food manually, he ate it all over time and then problem remained - didnt automatically retrieve it

i have 100s of dried fish in that barrel. if any of my characters starve to death mere meters from it, i would jump into the screen and backhand their shuddering corpse myself

Nah they run up and eat dried fish as soon as their hunger starts going red theyve been doing it for 100 hours. with greenfruit they hold onto it forever but dried fish they run up as soon as they start going red

i just had an idea, the companion/farmer thats not eating was originally called Greenhands or something like that, he was a farmer from a fishing village. perhaps it is coded into his AI to not like fish, because he wanted to get away from t hat fishing village thats why he joined me? What do you think??
Erei Oct 12, 2016 @ 3:17am
Green fingers ? It's a she, it's a unique character (I have her to). I don't think any character is hard coded to not eat a particular food, and I don't remember any conversation where she say she hates fish.
Nanogiraffe Oct 12, 2016 @ 4:43am
How did you recruit him? And was he hungry when he joined you? I've been chasing this bug for a while now too
Bogardus Foul Oct 12, 2016 @ 7:26am
Greenfruit is an ingredient so they will only consume it when they are starving.

Peons not auto eating could be a pathing issue. Try to rebuild navmesh (ctrl shift f11)

I've seen this before when I recruit someone that's hungry, especially using the recruit prisoners mod. If they're hungry when you get them to join you, sometimes you have to manually put some food in their inventory before they'll start feeding themselves.
Percival Oct 12, 2016 @ 9:09am
rebuilding navmesh didnt work, ive yet to try importing / starting a new game to see if it fixes it but i could SWEAR ON GRANNYS LIFE the sunbix was auto eating up until a couple days ago. Greenfingers yeah. He was a male when i recruited him in a chinese hat complaining about his village. he was hungry yes when i recruited him nano. good to see you! maker of the recruit prisoner mod <3

dudes it seems like if they dont have the top left inventory slots oepn they dont automatically go to eat foods. this can be fixed by having them holding an open backpack with the top left slot open or justr having an empty inventory. even if it isnt full they wont try to fill any other slot but the top left. hope this helps for anyone other than myself. xx
