Saving Private Beep

So, I went to the place called Mongrel in search for a good fogmask. After visiting the merchants I left the town again, followed by a strange guy saying Beep all the time. Wanted to join my party or something. Told him I travel alone.
He followed me anyway. 200 meter outside the town we were attacked by two groups of fogmen, around 20 each. I immediatly did run back to Mongrel, but Beep decided to fight (idiot).
One of the groups followed me, the other one fought Beep. My fogmen group linked up with a third one and attacked the city.
We defeatet them at the gates and I travelled to the camp where I thought they would have brought Beep. "Probably he isn't dead already" I thought. I had to check it. Wouldn't find a corpse if they ate him though...

The camp was completly empty. I assume they all died attacking Mongrel. I went through the fog from pole to pole in search of Beep, but the camp was completly deserted. Just at the moment I decided to go and give up all hope, I heard it through the fog:" Beep".

He was still alive. I ran to Beep and tried to lockpick his shackles, but a fog prince appeared.
He was to strong for me! I had to leave Beep back again!
But the prince ignored me and started to eat Beep, right in front of me! Animals, thats what they are. Eating is all they care for as it seems.
I had 0 experience in knocking out people, but I couldn't fight him, so I tried it anyway.
Got 9 assasination skill, but failed. He didn't care. He continued eating Beep. So I continued aswell. At some point i did succed and knocked him out. This repeated itself untill I killed around 10 fogmen. They all came one after another. After that , my assasination skill was 53.
Unfortinutly, Beep has lost a leg. So I carried him through the fog. A few lone fogmen passed by, ignoring me.
I could almost see Mongrel when it happened. A full sized group of them - and they already had spotted me. So I did run, Mongrel was only a few hundred meters away, I couldn't leave him behind now! Both or no one would make it...

I took a few hits to the chest and the legs, but when the cityguards saw us, they helped us and killed the fogmen.
We made it.

Nothing in this story is invented. This game is awesome. Beep has never joined my group after that, had probably enough of me.
Didn't got a good fogmask though...

kenshi can be summed up by : god, I need to to that but there's no way I don't die, but...I'll try for science, i've got a save after all.

20 minutes later: OMG, I did it, 85% did it anyways, no way I reload or savescum, this was so beautiful.

Yeah your spot on there. I save before I get into any kid of fight but doesn't matter if I lose or not I never reload the save.

Day 1 on my new play through and i lost an arm.

Absolutely this!
The personal stories that come out of this game are amazing. Beautiful is the right word.

Poor Beep though. I mean I could be in a real life situation like that & it wouldn't phase me but damned if I didn't get anxious for Beep while reading the O/P just then!

I've not yet met him in the game but already I know that if Beep dies, you burn... forever.... Even after you re-load a previous save!

He died that one time. It haunts your dreams. You know he's alive *now* but that's not the point.
You long for your own death to wash away the pain of the truth but there is no escape for you now. You're locked inside your own personal Beepless hell!


Nice story O/P. I especially liked the part where Beep didn't die!
