Hybrid Ore Drills? Can I research them?

Hey all,

While exploring the map I've found little settlements with Hybrid Ore Drills that mine copper - are these something I can build?

Since the mass copper exodus in .19 and .20 - even when not importing your save - I have no Copper sources anywhere near my settlement. Sure, I can make a little mining outpost somewhere just for Copper - that might be fun - but I wondered if there was any alternatives where underground Copper exists.

I think I recall seeing a Mod for a Copper Ore Drill, suggesting it's not part of the vanilla game, even though I've seen them in my game in non-player settlements - I only use the 256 Recruit Limit mod.

The only mod I use is the one for copper drills.

Cool @B33rHunt3r. Think I'll give that mod a try then if Copper Ore Drills aren't vanilla. I think they should be.

ya i am using the ore drill mod myself now. i didnt want to change my base layout to include a nearby 2nd copper so i only have one inside. and its 70 ql i think. 2 ppl with like 100 labour were mining it WAY to slow. i set up 3 of these puppies on it and while around 65% output they were easily more than enough.

since u need copper for crossbows and robotics *two newer things* seems it slong past time to make copper a part of a stable of a base by adding these machines to base game. copper is no longer a money ore but has uses as well
