Kenshi
Follow/Bodyguard Command acting weirdly
Recently my characters have been running into each other when set to follow or bodygaurd someone else. I have a squad of 10 people and a garru, and to travel I make them all follow the slowest character. They all crowd around the character and block their path, continually walking into them and pushing them away. This problem has only been happening as of today and everything was working fine yesterday. I am running 0.97.6

Not sure but has it got something to do with the formation setting in AI tab?

I tried changing it between military, random, and caravan but it did not seem to change anything. They just kept crowding the one guy no matter the formation. I have always kept it on random before.
You need to save and reload after setting a new formation for it to take effect. Random seems to form a box around the leader, caravan forms a line and military forms a 3 wide box.

dosent stable have the "group" run? where it auto keeps everyone together? to me u cant formation a follow command... but maybe thats just me.

i have around 60 ppl and use group run all the time. even my main group of warriors is 12. i use follow command when using my MC to build stuff and have a mech spider or garu set to follow so i can do my thing easier.

Yes use the group run. That's works perfectly. But you have to remember every time you add a new member to the squad you need to do it again for the new member to follow same speed.

Can you explain the group run?

So I tried saving and reloading, but they seem to all do the same thing. Crowd around the person that I set them to follow. This only does not happen when the person they are following is faster than the ones following. But they do not appear to be taking on any formation like you're describing. I have only one mod and that's the sparring mats one, so I'm not sure what's causing it.

I have 137 hours into this game and I just recently heard about group run.......lol I did the follow the slowest guy too til now.

You see the little stick figure guy in the bottom right corner with an arrow on each side? click on the arrows to change the run speed. You have walk, run, then you see a black and red "double" stickman running. This is group run and makes everyone run at the same speed (a.k.a. the speed of the slowest guy.) Makes things 100% better for staying together.

Alright so group running works, thank you for that, but as long as I do not set anyone to follow each other. So the command just does not work anymore for me for some reason. I tried verifying and uninstalling but neither changed the characters humping each other.

Make sure you take off the job of following also.
