It's just like the "Which is better, 100 Martial Arts, or 100 Katana skill?" It's personal preference,

Martial arts, hands down? lol
So far every category has a role, which is fine, there are no "best weapons". Except for polearm, which are really weak overall, alongside a very situational bonus.
Sadly can't be said for the weapons themselves inside those category. You clearly have winners and losers there.
That's a bunch of starving bandits, so yeah^^ MA have a penalty against metal stuff like robots, and the block animation take longer than for "normal" weapon. I like MA, but it's certainly not the best. I don't think there is a best either.
The only issue I see with martial arts is the attack speed seems kinda broken. Almost like you spend too much time stuck in dodge aimation to take anything down quickly.
That character has a 72 katana skill and eveyrthing just dies like ten times faster only due to attack speeds and block animation is not as long.
Heavy Weapons + Hackers = good crowd control with larger but slower AOE attacks. Does good cutting and blunt damage.
For powerleveled characters, I would consider mainly using a Heavy Weapon/Hacker while having a Katana as a side-arm. The fact that Heavy Weapons and Hackers deal both cutting and blunt damage means it's a better all-purpose weapon when talking about damage output.
However, there is no true all-around 'best' weapon, just a best weapon for certain situations.
Martial Arts = Devastating on duels with high STR + Tough characters, most DEX + Dodge growth on training. Takes a lot of time investment and careful hardening and armor choices.
Heavy Weapons may have a lot of work cut out on rookies, but Martial Arts is a great deal difficult to master when it comes to finding the right enemy stats to fight against. You could go up against the Bugmaster after claiming the bounty and outfitted with training gear, but getting him first is the hard part.
Thanks for your fast responses, guys, the community seems very helpful :)
