Black border around game in full screen

Like the title says when I play the game in full screen there is a black border around the game like I am playing it in the wrong resolution even though I have it set to 1080. Any way to get rid of this so far the only solution I have found was playing in borderless window

Hmm, I play full screen yet have never had the border you describe, most odd. Not sure what might be causing it, but it's not default game behaviour.

I was having lots of issues with the resolution too. It seems that the pull down menu isn't accurate. I went through them one by one until I found the real 1920x1080 that worked with full screen. Before that my fix was running windowed borderless and it seemed that their 1920x1080 actually worked correctly.

Having that issue now.. what was the correct one to actually get 1920x1080 ?

Oh this seem happen to me too. Everytime I alt+tab to desktop program like Vivaldi, it is resized to some resolution that isn't 1920x1080...

I have this too, it works fine for me with borderless mode so maybe try that.

1600x900 did this and worked for me.

for me having both borderless and full screen checked at the start menu caused the black border to happen, uncheck full screen and see if it fixed it.

its what works for me.. having to hit that after i load it up is slightly annoying but whatever, only takes a sec to do so.. was annoying at first tho.. few day later it became a habit lol

its not an elegant solution but when i drag a window (firefox browser) from my second screen over the game it updates the resolution and works fullscreen without any issue, thought i let everyone know

Had the same problem, ALT+ENTER just resized the whole window, but did not help. My solving was using 1600x900, like @Celery Man said, playing in fullscreen without black borders now.
So if nothing helps, try to fiddle around with all resolutions, there might be the one working for you.

Full screen has been broken for years. We always recommend using borderless instead.

Try lower the graphics setting, the default should be high. It work for me.
