Endless beak Things

It never stops...

I have been stuck here for like a week ingame, everytime I get my dudes healed enough that it is safe to move 3 more come out of the woodworks. It never ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ends.

And 40-50 beakers are far from "Endless". On the other hand, you'll get rich and a sh!t load of meat, yay!

But that's a good thing! Every fight makes your guys stronger, until Beak Things become mundane for your guys.

Pro-tip - Don't mob them. Only have 3 or 4 guys fighting each Beak Thing. One guy faces it while the others wail on it from the rear and sides. That way a failed blocking attempt won't murder half your squad.

EDIT - Maybe you shouldn't be sleeping next to a Beak Thing nest lol

Even when you stand behind it you will still get hit. Try and you will see.

The AoE is at the front of the animal so you shouldn't get hit. If you use longer weapons like polearms or naginatas etc it should be even safer still. Are you using really short weapons where your guys have to stand right next to the Beak Things legs?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

This, don't gangbang it. Character 1v1 can fight beak things in their 20 stats. It hit slow and you can block it easily.

And on the reverse, if you playing vanilla without mod, 1 character can fight 3 beak things.. let them gangbang you

Yeah but its 40-50 beak things over the course of a real life 30 minutes while I'm just trying to get my guys healed enough to move on to an ancient factory. It felt like an eternity.

Hyperbole is clearly not allowed on this forum. ;)

Hyperbole? Sounds like something a hiver would try to sell you at a massively inflated price.

"Best hyperbole in the land, no-hive! Not stolen, only the best!"

ha! I have to say, that hiver who tries to sell you the lantern of radiance is extremely convincing. He genuinely sounds concerned for my life.

I play almost vanilla, and I had no problem with these when my party was just starting out.

A couple of archers and the 5/1 combat mod made beak things manageable.

It is in fact better to not mob these things because they have splash damage.
