Beep
I am loving the guy, but man he has no luck with limbs. My beep is one of the heaviest armored character i have, yet he is down 3 limbs since i got him, i guess he is just getting closer to his true form

My other hivers have learned to dodge i guess, cus hes the only one who has lost limbs, I have shek who lost an arm, a few humans who lost a leg or an arm, but Beep, nope he is almost out of limbs to lose

Funnily enough, before I retired Beep to be part of my home crew to keep the base safe with some of the others and maintain the Hydroponics, he was in the thick of things with the rest of us. Even joined us in our mission to Arach to take down the Bugmaster. And nary a single limb lost on the guy.

Even putting him through the Beak Thing Institute of Vain training program didn't remove any of his limbs. And that particular kind of training is brutal on the body!

Not sure if I should be happy I have a "mint condition" Beep or not. Well, mostly mint. There's obviously a few scars here and there but he's almost brand new.

Lucky it's his limbs because most of the time anything that can lob off a limb in battle is also capable of finishing off a character's chest or stomach for that instakill and Beep joins with rock bottom stats making him very easy to get slaughtered.

Once you lose all 4 limbs you can switch over to unholy plate or something... I mean... You already lost your limbs so you might as well just focus on keeping your vital bits safe.

Do you have limb loss on rare?

I set mine on frequent and it's not too uncommon that by the time I'm ready to even step a foot in Arach around a quarter of the limbs on my party aren't natural.

Why change to unholy chest plate? Your robotics limbs benefit from armor too you know.

They also have like twice the health of your chest and stomach and regain pretty much full use when healed. The main problem with Unholy Plate is your characters limbs are bound to get lobbed off in combat since they take more damage more often than your other body parts, which is much less of a problem if you've replaced those limbs anyway.

You can use Samurai Armor instead if you want. You give up leg protection take a huge combat stat penalty for a little bit of less valuable arm protection and a slightly higher mitigation value. You lose a huge chunk of cutting damage out of Unholy Plate Mail's penalties, but it's rare in my experience that it outweighs the demerits of Samurai Armor.

Hivers are weak to begin with, but when you replace their limbs they are better than the rest barring their low chest and head hp.

Hivers move 10% faster in combat to scoot up to what their gonna hit. Its why if you fight the southern hive you'll quickly realize you don't let them surround you with their polearms.

ha! This is why I haven't recruited any hivers in my current game. I haven't had any characters lose limbs yet, or even come close, really. I don't take a lot of chances, because I'm terrified of this happening to one of my precious squaddies.

It's not all bad, really. Provided you can supply the unit with a quality replacement limb, they can come out of it all the stronger. Just gotta be able to make your own OR buy/steal something good.
