A way to lock weapons in inventories.
I have blacksmiths. They make weapons...lol. Currently, they keep putting their weapon into storage and arming themselves with the crap they're making. There should be a way to lock weapons in place so this doesn't happen, or at least... the character is smart enough to know Catan 3 isn't nearly as good as MKIII, or something even higher.

It wouldn't be such a big deal, but my crafters are part of my small army and I can't have them defending Ganja with garbage weapons when everyone that isn't a smith has awesome gear.

I know I can simply rearm them, but that becomes a hassle when there are so many attacks happening while I'm building up a stock of crap to sell off to nearby cities.

Yes, the best you can do is give them a good katana in their secondary weapon slot, but no guarantee they will use it.

They put them in the storage too - I tried that already, figured it would fix the problem, but it instead continued the issue.

Oh well, I've unarmed my blacksmiths.

Really, I can't remember seeing my blacksmith putting away their secondary weapon.

He replaced the mkIII ninja blade he had with a guardless katana that he was making. I cluster craft with the never ending queue option and he always seems to replace his good weapons with the crap he's making - but like I said, I just unarmed him for now. Kind of sucks because he's a good warrior, but I'm training up a bunch of new guys to counter-act.

My guys have never put away the secondary weapon, or should I say, the weapon in thes secondary slot. They will always store the primary slot weapon to enable them to put a newly made one in there to transport it to storage as if it's a large weapon they will stop doing their job if they can't move it.

Makes perfect sense to me. ;p

Its no big deal really but it doesnt make sense at all, because they will do that even when they have a large backpack that is empty. My wepsmith has one of those huge -10 skill backpacks and even when its empty, they will still equip the weapon they are making and put the one they had in storage. Not to mention they sometimes get stuck when one storage is full, even if theres an empty storage right next to them. Happens randomly and quite rarely, but it does happen.
There are quite a few flaws in the craft/labour system, this weaponsmith issue is one of the most insignificant ones, there are much worse ones, especially in the farming cooking category, but i guess they will be fixed eventually.

I wonder if this is an issue that isn't widespread? Even before I added the few mods that I've added, my smiths would always replace all of the weapons I gave them, in any slot, with the crap they were building. I wouldn't care if I was making Edge weapons, but I haven't pushed that far with it yet. This doesn't happen with my armor crafter, only my smiths.

It doesn't matter what slot I have it in, primary, secondary - I've put it in a separate backpack and then took the backpack off and replaced it with another one - that way if he has to fight, I can swap packs and weapons (thankfully you can pause). Still inconvenient, but it's something.

I can see the future threads if the slot was locked....

"Why does my guy stop doing his job at the weaponsmith"
"Why won't my guy move the big weapon from the weaponsmith"
"Why does my guy only build one Plank/Falling Sun/Nodachi etc etc when I have repeat on"

That's why I think the current system is playing devils advocat & doing the best thing possible to help the manufacturing from stalling, only way it would stall this way is if you had no or full storage, like all other jobs ;o)

Yeah, I suppose it could do a check for if you're wearing a BP big enough, but then it'd have to see if there was room. I have no idea how that would work. But what next, ask it to arrange stuff in your BP so it will fit. Then what...sorry, won't fit, manufacturing stalled... or ....store primary weapon as we can use that to move new weapon & continue manufacturing lol ;o)

I have recalled times when my blacksmith is producing katanas in bulk. They will carry things to weapon slots, and stow the weapon they finished if it goes to their inventory. I let the backpack full of katanas to the one designated to bulk sell them anyway.

I built a weapon cabinet next to the weapon smith with one purpose: to put away weapons intended to sell, and filter the products for the best quality among the rest.
