Good Base Spot For Trading?
So I finally decided to create bases, and for the first one II settled in Shem bordering Swamp and Borderlands. It is a good spot for a huge base, since there are not powerful factions nearby and no law to worry about my hemp production. Land is also mostly flat so no weird building designs. However, the problem I face is that there is barely any trading NPCs visiting my base. Therefore, I am force to risk sending half my people to trade my goods directly to towns. The problem with such plan is that the Hub and Swamp doesn't really need my illegal items and buy them at discount price. The Holy Nation and the UC outlaw hemp, so I risk smuggling goods there.
Hence, I want to ask if any of you guys know a good spot in a free zone that still have plenty of friendly travelers roaming through.

clownsteady and flatslagoon are places to sell drugs... btw its easier to just buy the drugs in the swamp than producing them

Yeah I would want somewhere between shark and flats lagoon like the guy said above.

There's a spot if you google people call Rainbow Valley, it sits right between several Hive villages, Squin, Admag, a waystation and finally the Hub to the NE-

Its spot is a literal triangle where 4 roads intersect and traders come thru practically constantly. Other positive its Shek land so no taxes to pay since they never even take the food they lay claim too.

Lots of bandit spawns, but swamps are pretty close by to SE. Also plenty of Garru spawns for goods, occasional beak thing. Decent farming, multiple biomes very close together.

Here's an Image of my base there so you can see what the road intersection looks like- the camera is facing nearest Hive village, and the area of Vain is about 100yards from that gate.

Vain's a great spot to set up for trading. There are plenty of Hive Villages to make the rounds and sell your goods/get materials and the local wildlife is great to train your martial skills on. Just be careful, as they tend to play for keeps there. But if you survive long enough, you'll eventually replace Beak Things as the jungle's apex predators.

Flats Lagoon is the best place to sell hash in the area. The town is owned by Tech Hunters which means drugs are legal but still have a good markup in price.

Sadly, I just check all the good base locations. None of them works because I am using the Genesis mod. The devs for that mod pretty much place towns and villages on locations ideal for base location, because I guess it was easier for them to do build those buildings.

good place for a trade base and where to sell hash are two different things really.

if i was setting up a hash production i wouldn't have it be a base for trading, because you get a straight sale value if you sell it out of your own shop counter. set up shop in swamp and do the holy pilgrimage to flats lagoon.

but, if you're talking about setting up an actual trade hub/base with all the right mods then there's no better place (that i've found) than okrans valley. specifically towards the northern side, as it's close enough for HN, UC, and tech hunter caravans to cross your path. they're all big spenders if you get the right groups coming through your base.

Of all the different caravans that would come to your base to trade, the Western hivers have the most trade money while traders guild caravans have zero.

Yes they do. They operate the same way as Black Dragon ninjas, anything in a food store is fair game, though they shouldn't take EVERYTHING like the ninja ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do. Easy way around it is to remove all food into a backpack until they're gone.

I mean I got as many hours into this as anyone, that specific save has like 200 hrs into it and they never take anything from my town when they show up.

The whole group walks over to the main store counter I have, they stand there like idiots for an entire day or two and then just leave- and this is 100% vanilla.

> store counter
Food Store is the only thing they'll check, the big barrel you can build that's called that. Stuff like shop counter is safe, so again, you can stuff food in there until they leave, just as you can with a backpack or similar.

edit: this was the case last time I settled in Shek lands (south of Hub, east of Squin), and they always took any food I left in the Food Store. I was playing Skellies so I didn't care about the food and just left it there for them. It's always possible an update broke it or something, it's been a while since I last built in Shek areas, but last I checked it was definitely working as intended.
