What should I focus on first, Armorsmithing or Weaponsmithing?
What should I start crafting, Weapons or Armor?

Weaponsmithing requires a lot of research to get to good weapon grades, but can make you money easily with mass produced katana's. Armour grades don't need research to improve, just skill levels, but I don't think it's the most profitable enterprise (unless you have mods to make you sell stuff for half price rather than a quarter). Though I think both aren't as good as stuff you can buy.

You can focus on both at the same time.

Armor.

High end armor has a greater overall impact on survival and skill growth.

Masterwork Armor > Edge 2 weapons.

Also armor masterwork doesn't require research to unlock. Converting Hides into leather is the best way to level it as hides are fairly easy to find/gather/buy and you aren't wasting materials on low end armor.

Once your skill is high, 70+ (higher is better), pump out armor with all the leather you created.

Use scorchlanders for crafting weapons and gears, they have xp speed bonus for that.

Armorsmithing , it's cheaper and more meaningfull, you can make cash simply making bunch of Taglea or whatever it's called. The materials are dirt cheap and the profit is decent.

Armorsmmithing is tiered in much better manner Cloth->Leather->Plate->Chain. You don't need to reasearch various stages of refinement
to get it to a profitable state.

In short with armorsmithing you can make cash with Tier 1 recepies, while weaponsmithing is not nearly as profitable and higher tier recepies require MORE and more resources diminishing the profit.

Also you can hold any weapon and do some damage, but you can't win with crap armor.
Masterwork Samurai set is near impenetrable
