which is better , hemp or cotton?
as far as i know they do essantily the same thing,
so whats the different between the two?

Hemp has more uses. Beyond fabric it can be used to make biofuel, standard/advanced first aid kits, splints, and hash.

The difference is you can make hash out of hemp and hemp grows in arid climates while cotton still grows in wet ones.

Well... you can usually find enough first aid and splint kits in the wild to meet your needs, you can use other things to make biofuel, and there are tons of ways to make money without bothering with hash.

I usually don’t bother with cotton though. Kind of depends on the climate you are in. A combined green + arid climate will grow hemp really well btw.

Sometimes it's easier to unlock cotton tech early game before one has access to enough hemp for the research criteria.

The game also alludes to the idea that you get more fabric out of processing hemp than cotton.
