How to stop bonedog from running away

Is it a pup? then its probably playing with a limb. pups are hard to control. just keep up with him for now. he will grow out of it

i dont use animals but my son was telling me he had a pup wich grabbed a severed limb and ran all the way to another biome. (pup behavior is WAD btw) He also said that he got tire of chasing it and just let it run but it eventually comes back.....

You can tell Pups to follow someone after picking up a limb. This should keep them behind the person they're following, until they grow out of it!

Yeah, it's a new feature put in for 0.98.0, straight from the patch notes....................


-Your amputated limb goes flying through the air. Dogs will run off with it.
-If your pet dog finds a limb he'll get all defensive and keep running away with it until he finally eats it. Only happens with young dogs, so don't worry he will grow out of it eventually.


I freaked out the first time I used "a guy and his dog" start. Just loaded up and was exploring around. Came across the UN vs UC fight. My pooch found a severed limb and started going nuts. Running around like an idiot. On a good note though, he eventually ate it and helped with his hunger.....lol

Just pick your doggo up and walk with him, builds up your char's strength nicely anyway.

5 years later, adult bonedog. Set to follow and bodyguard. Still runs off to find limbs, even during combat.
