Best Town to live in?
Im asking what town would be the best to live in?

Best town meaning - a Town thats large, alot of people coming and going, well established, large mix of traders/shops/buildings, etc.

But can someone mention one that would allow a MIXED group of races. Obviously i believe Holy Nation is Faction of Cities i wouldnt beable to live in.

Also what area of the bio is the town?
Thanks

Hi. For me the Hub in the Border Zone. A lot of large buildings & no raids/taxman/freedom to party with MIXED races. The best reason for me is the power usage of the town itself is low. Even building small wind generators on rooftops, the town will not dent power generated from your faction. The town itself do not offer good services but Waystations/Hive Villages & some Shek Cities are nearby for building materials & such. Sometimes roaming bandit groups will attack but for me that is quite rare. This town always become my temporary place prior to a proper Outpost. Even without establishing an Outpost it will always be my choice. However not much shops. 1 Bar is all it offers & a Thieves Tower.

I'm living in Mongrel right now. There's a fair sized Y-House you can buy, and two smaller sheds.

The town has a clothing store, tech store, weapons, ranger, armor, general, cybernetics, thief's tower, and three bars.

Only downside is that it's in the center of the Fog Islands, and is under constant attack from Fogmen. You are able to mine copper not too far out of the city gates, but you probably need to keep a closer eye on your mining squad than you would if you were living out of Squin.

Bandits around Squin will beat you up and just steal your food and whatever. Fogmen will beat you up and then take you away to eat you.

I perfer Admag or the Great Fortress both in the Stenn desert. The Great Fortress is nice because you can pretty much buy the whole town.

My last party lived in Heft. It has a huge variety of shops. It's the capital of the United Cities. From the wiki:

Armory (Tech Hunters)
Bakery
Bar x2
Clothing Shop
Faction Throne
Farm Shop (Free Traders)
General Shop (Trader's Guild)
Mechanical Shop (Machinists)
Noble House
Police
Power Station x2
Ranger Shop (Tech Hunters)
Robotics Workshop
Slave Shop (Slave Traders)
Thieves
Travel Gear (Tech Hunters)

The only thing it lacks is a proper weapon shop.

edit: if you want a town that has both a weapon and armor shop (perfect for gearing up), I believe the best choice is Squin.

I like The Hub for all these reasons.

But, I like it more because it's not "safe." There are few guards, bandits path through regularly, and there is nowhere for you to run if things get really hairy. Even the Shinobi, which are very strong, can't defend you from everything. And, the more that you put guards, the barman, the Shinobi at risk by running to them for help, the more chances there will be that one of the key NPC vendors will get killed... During the frequent battles that break out inside the town, half my time is spent ensuring that a valuable NPC isn't killed. Or, rendered unconscious and then picked up by one of the wandering Slavemonger groups...

The bar is filled with thugs and assassins, the guards are thieves and cutthroats, the citizens vagrants and misfits, and the only travellers visiting The Hub are Dust Bandits, Slavers, wretched starving souls and the occasional group of well armed Nomads.

All that and I need to survive and thrive, too? With few vendors and nearly no guards? FUN! :)

*There's also a goodly number of copper deposits around The Hub, enough to keep seven characters busy bringing in copper to sell and turn into electronics. The Hub Bar and the Rebel Outpost Bar can get good cash reserves at times and Squin, a Hiver town and Stack are just a quick jaunt away... through dangerous territory for a new player. :) There are also likely to be more purchasable buildings there than anywhere else, too.

Well maybe not a town, but The Eye waystation is great spot for first base to do some research and crafting. There is ruined tower giving you safe camping, bar and mechanical shop. Sand ninjas, skimmers, rebel farmers and blood raiders raids giving you free loot to sell while doing your stuff in the tower.

If you need to trade, give bounties, sell slaves, get important blueprints you can just travel to one of many UC cities to the north or east. The Eye is also great place to mine iron and copper as these resources can be found very close together in great amounts.

Did I mention that bar sells sake which can be sold for nice profit in UC? Also smugglers roam around so you can rob them for hashish and bloodrum to sell it in UC towers.

Blister Hill because only there you can bask in the light of the Holy Lord Phoenix and Okrans flame at once.

I like Catun. Huge iron deposits right outside the city. Multiple copper deposits nearby. Beak things regularly attack the gates only to get killed by the guards giving you a free supply of meat and animal skin. A couple large houses for purchase. A Shinobi Tower. Not bad.

Ok the town I am most acquainted with is Mourn. Now it is a sad town, but it has saved my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ life a few times. I have good memories there... oh also beak thing eggs sell for a good ammount, though it is a town that is painful to travel near... it is like the hub to me, but a bit bigger and with beak things instead of bandits. Fun times

My gang have a shop in Lagoon Flats (too small for a home base), and a larger place in World’s End for all the tech hunting to be done in the northwest, but I think the best town to live in anywhere has got to be Catun. You have access to the Ashlands (east) and the Hook and Shun (west), an island full of adorable fish people to the south who enjoy long walks along the beach while eating people’s faces, and there’s plenty of good local housing options for those looking to buy cheap and rebuild. It’s also a short haul to the Borderlands on one side and Black Scratch on the other.

Sure, you’re far from the lucrative proving grounds of Bast and the easy pickings to be had in the desert, but there’s just so much action on either side of you. You’re also close to Shark, Clownsteady and the Run. So many places to explore down south. I really can’t stand the northern coast.

Exactly why Mourn has saved my butt so many times....

Wish I could make my screen shot look vintage... FFXV style picture : "Beast of Mourn"

I have a crafting operation in Heng, a training center in The Eye waystation, a barracks in Bark for recovery after in the field training, and then I summer on the beaches South of Drifters Last. Long live the Empire!
