Screenshot. She's just idling.
She just grabs the bread from the oven and stands there with it in her inventory.
I'll repost this in the bug thread as soon as someone can confirm it's not just me being an idiot.

Where can they be deposited to then?
I have built a bread basket, next to my oven where Dustwich is the only item queued, and set to repeat queue.
The chef still just holds bread in inventory.
I went AFK for about 10 minutes and the bread found it’s way to the stove, but the resulting dustwich would not be auto deposited in my food store, which is mostly empty.
It should be noted that before I went AFK, as a test my chef’s only auto task was to haul food to the bread basket.
My chef instead grabbed the bread and idled with her current goal as ‘aimless’
Dustwich goes in the food storage barrel. You don't have to set a haul command for that, though. (In general, if they're working on any bench or machine as a permanent job, then they'll empty the machine - if there's appropriate storage - automatically, so they can start on the next item.
But yeah, not sure what's going on with the bread. You could play around with the order of the jobs a bit, sometimes that clears up some conflict, but other than that, I don't know what else to try.
Best I can think of is...
I think, in general, when a character has one food item on them, they don't go put that in storage as part of the "ditch resources" option. But once they have more than one food item on them, and they're set to ditch resources, they'll go put that food in storage.
So perhaps she just considers the one bread her personal food, and only goes to store the bread once she has more than one on her? (The haul command should make her put it in storage anyway, though.)
Will ditch unnecessary commands to try and clear up
Appreciated.
Just set the food storage job before the production job and the 'cook' will immediately ferry everything he/she makes to storage. Sometimes it's also best to share jobs with other pawns to stop feedback loops and mishaps. For example, get someone else to ferry bread to the bread bin.
Glad that you managed to fix it. Sometimes it just needs some fiddling with.
