Where are the AI cores?

I've googled around, and apart from a various few shops that MAY have them, it seems the only places to find them are ancient tech labs. Well after sneaking my way through the security spiders and looting the crap out of a couple labs, I've yet to find any.
Seems I read somewhere that the spiders drop them, but a quick Google search doesn't reveal AI cores as a possible drop.

Any help?

Also, I'm trying to find Narkos trap (more core hunting) but can't find where it's located. Google just says it's controlled by the holy nation, and that's pretty vague given the size of their territory.

Best Core Haul I got was uh.. Well I haven't a clue what the name is but it's that Islet or whatever you'd call it you see on the left part of the map if you zoom in half way and go all the way up North West.
Gonna take a little swimming but the area's great. I'd have loved to build something on it for the Ambiance but man does it take forever to get there.

So, just in case anyone else fails to read those instructions properly and then also fails to use the map correctly, this man DOES NOT mean Raptor Island, which (whilst also requiring a 'little' swimming and which could also easily be misinterpreted [geographically speaking] as being somewhere NEAR the North West of the map] definitely DOES NOT contain any AI cores, or ANYTHING ELSE for that matter.
If I were you, I definitely wouldn't bother to swim all the way over there, ever

The location is the tip of the Iron Trail, where there's a tech lab. The other tech lab where you can find AI cores is just southwest of Arach.

There's a mod that lets you make them with electronics and plates takes forever tho even with a lvl 80 science guy

Scrapyard: enter from the east with plate jacket, armoured hood, and leather pants for acid protection. Very easy with decent athletics. 3x AI cores for sale at 25,000 each in all my games so far.
I found a couple in the tower in Fish Isle the other day, some were not even locked up so make sure you check ALL the little chests.

I haven't been able to get into a single ancient lab due to my stats (I'm about 130 game days in but not using hackers so I'm kinda defenceless against robots), but the above locations were a piece of cake for my squad of mixed abilities. Narko's trap has a few too, but same deal, can't get in due to my stats.

If you want to cheat you can buy the ones from scrapyard and then import the game and the inventory will restock. No shame in it! Well maybe a little...

Hey! Thanks for all the tips folks.
I had the scrapyard ones and the fish isle ones. Can't manage Narko's Trap yet, but nearly there. Maybe with some mercs? Had the ones near/in Tower of Abuse. Went to ancient tech labs in Iron trail and Wetlands (after my brief trip to Raptor Isle) and between the TWO i got only ONE core!!
Boooooooo!!
I looked in every box and corpse half a dozen times, but no joy.
Will try Ash Desert tomorrow, apparently there may be a sale on!!

Easiest AI Cores I have are from the Tower of Abuse. There are 3 in there. Just take a fast-sneaky thief in there on a speed run. or several slower ones to knock out the Thralls. Also grab Agnu skeleton from the cage upstairs, but he is slow, so you might be faster toting him. The Thralls and Screamer the False will eventually see you if you don't keep them knocked out. Just run if necessary, and try again to clean the books and AI cores out.

The Ash domes in the Ashlands tend to have several...though based on RNG, there are a lot of containers to potentially contain them. In my experience, these structures tend to have the best chance to get them, and to get several of them. It is an endgame area though, full of very formidable enemies.

The large leviathan-sized constructs in the Ashlands generally drop an AI core on their body as part of their vital "remains"

Ancient tech labs -MAY- contain them....there are significantly less containers that could have an AI core in them than in the Ashlands though, so you may find usually 0-2 AI cores in them, depending on the number of containers and your luck.

The covered, outdoor pavillions in the deadlands can contain them, but again, at a low likelihood.

I'm pretty sure that the Scrapyard ALWAYS starts the game with at least one for sale. Not sure if/when it restocks though.

I just pulled four cores from this one, it's officially called Lab #2, be prepared for a lot of mech spiders.

I have yet to explore an ancient lab that didn't have an AI core. Just play the game man, you shouldn't be asking on the internet or googling it at this point, you should be exploring and finding them yourself. Far more rewarding. Just pull up your map, figure out a point you want to explore, and go for it. Every region is different and has its own secrets, some of them will be ancient labs.
