Where are the AI cores?

I've googled around, and apart from a various few shops that MAY have them, it seems the only places to find them are ancient tech labs. Well after sneaking my way through the security spiders and looting the crap out of a couple labs, I've yet to find any.
Seems I read somewhere that the spiders drop them, but a quick Google search doesn't reveal AI cores as a possible drop.

Any help?

Also, I'm trying to find Narkos trap (more core hunting) but can't find where it's located. Google just says it's controlled by the holy nation, and that's pretty vague given the size of their territory.

That's the problem with the ruins, sometimes the cores didn't appear because of RNG.

The deadlands shop thats mentioned seemed to be a sure thing for me though. Can't remember where Narko's trap is sadly. Best Core Haul I got was uh.. Well I haven't a clue what the name is but it's that Islet or whatever you'd call it you see on the left part of the map if you zoom in half way and go all the way up North West.

Gonna take a little swimming but the area's great. I'd have loved to build something on it for the Ambiance but man does it take forever to get there.

Boss areas. Factories. Ancient science labs. Certain Settlements.

it's high level content so they're rare.

Now that I was reminded of the place I can't wait to head on back out there now, I haven't seen a Leviathan in game in like 2 years.

The Ashlands are a certain place to get them, altho maybe not for inexperienced adventures. Either go down there with fastest ranged ones and outrun what you cant fight and kite kill, or bring heavy gear and hope to scrap junk all skellys before they do you.

You can find 3 AI cores in the scrapyard. For ruins, I find them in ancient armories, usually guarded by 3-6 security spiders. You will need 15+ locksmithing to open the safes and such.

With the right gear, I have a character with 100 stealth, 48 lock picking, and 88 athletics, so I can pretty much go wherever as long as I don't drop the idiot ball.
Armories eh? Thought tech labs were all that had them.

You will find them in Ancient Tech Labs 100%. There are only 3 of these on the map though. You can also find a lot of them in the Ashlands.

Narko's trap is guarded by about 40 high paladins.

Ancient Tech Labs (Narko's Trap is the most well known) are the only guaranteed spot to find them. The Artifact system is written in such a way as to make sure at least one spawns, usually 3, up to 5.

I've never seen an AI core spawn in an ancient lab, or an armory (Armories for me, rarely have any artifacts, usually just good gear)

I have had both instances of No Spawn, and Spawn of an AI core in the Spider Factory, up to 3.

The safest location to find an AI core would be Scrapyard, for c.25,000 you can buy one, which is the best course of action if you intend to rush Hydroponics.

But at night you can sneak by them with even moderate sneak skill (given their barracks has some distance to the lab) unlock it, then kite the security in the lab into HN base. They do a pretty good number on each other and keeps everyone distracted.

The Ashlands - the best place. I found like 26 AI Cores there, all from chests and some unique enemies.
You need to have a bit of speed, assassination and items to survive the acid rains and outrun beakthings and south hivers, not to mention legions of mechanical spiders, but when you get there, you just sneak in and knock out soldiers in the domes, and after looting their CPUS they die without a fight (they are kind of hard to kill, all wearing those special/masterwork items and have stats above 60 all). Most of the domes have just crappy stuff you can buy everywhere, but those enemy CPUS and their gear not to mention AI Cores are quite the haul, worth going there.

Killing Cleanser Units will give you a guaranteed AI Core. There is also a couple that you can buy in Black Desert City.

I also have good luck finding AI Cores at the ancient lab south west of Arach and the one in Obedience.

Narko's Trap should be in between Skimmers Roam and the Iron Valleys just near Okran's Shield. Okran's shield is in the Iron Valleys just on the road going to Skimsands.
