Kenshi
Prices vs Value
I've only been playing this game for a couple of weeks so I know very little. I'm also trying hard not to discover spoilers that will lessen the fun of this game, but; I keep coming across items that have tremendous value, but the sale price is always a tiny fraction of that amount at best.

To attempt to be a tad clearer...Lets say I found some kind of incredible weapon. It says its value is 300,000 Cats. However, you cannot sell that weapon for anywhere near that price...anywhere as far as I can tell. You'll be lucky to get 10k Cats for that particular weapon. So how exactly is the "value" so high...if nobody feels it worth that much? Where is this "value" coming from?

value shows store price if you were to buy said item in a shop, depending on the economy of each biome/race/city/town different items have different markup/markdown prices, but you'll never really find a place to buy said item at 100% its "store value" sadly.

Very sadly...and I think you meant "...sell said item..."
So that "Value" is not really tied to anything.
I'm not sure what that "value" figure or "store price" is for, if it is so out of touch with what people/stores are willing to pay for it.

the way i typed it has both meanings, because the store will never buy it from you for the 100% price, and you cannot sell it for that since they wont, but yeah, personally i believe its just there to show the 'rarity' of the items, higher $ = more rare/unique

you're welcome, as for my name; it was for a PVP moment when i was drunk but then realized it worked well with my icon cus crying weebness , so i kept it for the WTF and Confusion factor, plus its fun seeing "SLIME DROOLING TUNNEL KILLED ENEMYNAMEHERE" in games, but no, i wont deny it, it was for perverted intention.
