Should I start at Rock Bottom?

As a new player what start would you say is best? I like a challenge but I don't want something unplayable.

I have done rock bottom 3 times now. Spawn, scavenge,evade capture, survive rinse repeat. It is a fun start too adding that extra challenge of needing to save up for a robotic arm.

As a new player sure its hard but if you have played a bit you likely already found several easy ways to make money like selling everything in the residential house at the hub for an easy 5k.

Rock bottom can be fun, but expect to fall a lot. You won't _necessarily_ die a lot, but you will lose a lot. If you're lucky you'll get good at running away and you'll be able to use that as a springboard to carefully improve your fighting stats, or live long enough to hire capable fighters to protect you.

Just depends on the kinda game you're after. You CAN absolutely die, by the way, just more likely that you'll lose a lot, slowly regain consciousness, and drag yourself to the next encounter. Personally, I like to start with an entourage, but there's definitely an appeal in starting rock bottom by yourself.

Currently 4 days in. I managed to scavange meat off a dead giant insect thing in the desert and metal armor off one of my former capters who died to giant insects. The metal armor and spiked club did not help when more slavers arrived but then those slavers were also eaten by giant insects. I have been beaten senseless so many times my legs are crippled and I can only crawl. My weapon was stolen, I have no food left and I am starving to death. It's been neat.

Yes. It makes the game much more harsher and interesting.

The mode isn't necessarily unplayable to beginners but it will force you to think about your moves which helps when you want to immerse your self in this game.

Rock Bottom starts is also one of the most powerful starts if you start knowing what to do since you have a free prosthetic slot and prosthetics are powerful.

Looting battle field near city are easy money and earn you right to enter city.
hire someone to start bounty hunting with guard help.
They making this actually easy one IMO.
