I'm not sure actually, I've never tried. I know you can join the Skeleton Bandits and Skin Bandits under the right circumstances, which are the other factions the Crab Raiders are hostile towards. I just figured the Reavers would be the same way. I should have left the Reavers as the 'or something' and just mentioned the other two.
You can ally with skeleton bandits and skin bandits but you need to have the right race when you talk to their leader.
In order to ally with crab raiders you just have to win the crab tournament, it's a crab tonne of fun too ;)
I've yet to meet skins
Crab Raiders are one of the nicest factions once you befriend them. Outside of an alliance, they are still raiders and might attack you out of the blue. They like fights and tests of strength. They even have Crab Tournaments that they will hold in front of your settlements now and then (never had one myself). They randomly join you up to help you if you are out and about. They sell you crabs. They have very nice heavy armour for strength training (not worth much else, though). They certainly are the best choice of allies when you consider the local alternatives.
Skeleton Bandits are delusional idiots (They aren't actually skeletons) who think that because "they are made of metal and a thousand year old", they should attack any other old meat bag.
Reavers like to sound high and mighty when they speak out against the oppressors of the wasteland, but they perpetuate slavery and force anybody captured to fight for their agenda.
The Skin Bandits... Don't get me started on the Skin Bandits. They should have a sit down and heart to heart with the Skeleton Bandits. Their leader is tragic, but deserves the peeler.
