ive suddenly got over -2 billion cats, is ther a cheat i can use to get it back to where it was?

I think there is a limit. If you accumulate too much money, it goes negative xD

it wasnt that it was around 100k last time i checked.

ive downloaded cheat engine im trying to work out how to use it now. ill let you if it works

gave up and loaded a save from an hour ago

found the culprit. these a cat inside a barrel in 'flotsam safehouse' in the rebirth lands that when i steal it it give me -2billion cats.

not sure if its a mod thing or in vanilla

Import your game it should fix it. If not there are ways to edit your save game. Look under Guides for this game. I had the same problem. Don't pick up any single cats. Its a bug.

I can confirm this. It was a single coin for me in a barrel at an outpost on the eastern shore. After grabbing it got a -2 billion something balance. The balance before that was 4,603 cats.

It's a known issue.

Also you can edit your money with the FCS. No third party software needed. There's even a guide for it, so just look that one up if you're interested.

use Cheat Engine, plenty of tutorials for that all around, cheating in money is the easiest thing to do with that tool.

There's a bug in the game, some single coins that you can find in random locations gives you this.
Use Cheat Engine to fix your cat value to the previous amount.
Also avoid picking single cat coins you find as they're the core of this bug, you can still pick bundle coins they're fine.

Using Kenshi Game Editor (aka FCS) to 'correct' player money.

Start game > Select Game Editor > Click "Done" > Click "Yes" > Click "Open any" on menu to the top right > Navigate to save folder then select file "quick.save" > Right click on column heading to add a visible column - select "Columns" then select "Type" > Click newly made visible "Type" column to group rows by type name > Scroll down to locate a row with "CAMERA" Type > Double-click to open then scroll down to look for "player money" attribute entry (just under faction name "pfaction name").
