My base is gone

Got back home after being away for a long while, and my entire base vanished. It still shows on the map that my outpost is there, but poof, every building is gone. I don't even know where to go from here

That sucks. I've heard of this happening before, and it does scare me. I think what I'm going to start doing is running back to my base after every gaming session, just to make sure it's there. That, and of course, have lots of save games in different slots.

Same thing for one of my outposts that I abandoned too. Still shows on map but buildings and wall are all gone. Because I haven't visited there for awhile, even after some imports. Buildings in cities would be overturned back to default if no characters sticking around or return often enough. This game should have come with warnings about that. Next time we abandon our outpost, be sure to dismantle everything so they don't get stuck on map.

or leave somebody there and return at some point? idk just fully abandon it until u r rdy to dismantle it all.

This ^. Don't abandon your base! Just leave a single character there with supplies. I've never had this happen in any of my play throughs but I've never abandoned a base either. It would be a good immersive game mechanic if you received a message informing you that your base had been overrun by <insert faction here> but alas it's a bug.
