Attack-All command, possible bug?
Does Attack-All only work properly at a certain distance? Sometimes when I use it, my party just stops moving, and stands in place.

I can't remember it working this way when I first started, but after importing my game, this problem has become very noticable.

I've had that happen a few times yesterday.
I thought maybe it had something to do with the AI settings, but no.
I thought maybe it had something to do with the jobs assigned..nope.
I thought maybe it had something to do with a mod...not sure.
But, I spent a good amount of time trying to get my squad to do basic commands.
They also had the propensity to refuse to stay together. They would keep the same speed, thankfully, but each seemed to choose a different path to the destination. lol

I think they need to be in aggro range of the enemy.
Once i close in,i usually sorround the targets and then issue the attack order.
Or i order to attack one, once tge icon turns red,you can order that charachter to attack all.
I don't know the numbers,I just shared my own experiance.

Glad I'm not the only one who is experiencing this. It's really annoying that it's not working as intended. I don't remember it being like this before. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling, but the issue persists.

Distance might be a factor. But, I also think that targeting AI is a factor, too. It seems as if they will all attempt to target something and then get all "crossed up" with who is supposed to be attacking what.

One key thing to note is how the enemy responds. If none of the enemy does anything, it likely means none of them ever actually got targeted for an attack by your characters. It sometimes seems more effective to use the command on just a couple of characters at a time than the whole group.

I just noticed that when using the "Attack-All" command, Each character's "Goal' becomes "Aimless" instead of "Attacking target". Definitely seems to be a bug. Not sure if importing caused this, gonna start a New game and test again.

I've seen that as well. It may be something in how they choose the "Job" of attacking. For instance, tell them all to go sit in the same chair. They will not look for any other chairs to sit in except for that one single chair you assigned them. And, they will all look at the same chair. One will get to sit in it and the rest will go "stupid."

Maybe they're blocking each other when the Attack All command is given and do not attempt to reacquire an acceptable target?

The command works when selecting one or two, but often fails with a large group.

Thanks for the all the insight on this, definitely makes sense, and could be the culprit. Hopefully we can get this fixed somehow

I can't claim any true knowledge, so treat it all as incoherent babble until it appears to be true for your experience in-game. :)

There is, IMO, something going on with how characters can sometimes interfere with each other in starting a Job task or being assigned to the same item/bench/etc. I can't claim any true knowledge why they sometimes don't appear to reacquire certain job tasks. Sometimes, it appears they're always thinking about them. At others, they have permanently macrame'd their butts to a chair while their inventory is full of Building Materials...

"Hey, Kang, how about ditching those surplus Building Materials."
"Kang like Building Material."
"Yeah, I get that. But, you see, you've got an inventory full of the-"
"KANG. LIKE. BUILDING. MATERIAL."
"Well... Okie dokie, then."

my experience is that the enemy actually has to be attacking you(rushing you) for it to work. if they havent aggrod onto your party yet , then you do attack target, that should get most if not all of them rushing you then you use attack all

Temp work around: Have "attacking enemies" set as task and jobs on. Tell group to attack an enemy and watch them charge, as they get closer press R (cancel action shortcut) AI task will take over and they will auto engage their own targets... micromanage as necessary.
