Best armor for martial character/where to get them?
So I doing a solo run martial artist, got myself masterwork samurai armor/legpants and specialist samurai cloth legpants and high grade assassins rags...

If theses are the best armor for my skeleton where would I find mastergrade assassins rags/samurai cloth legpants? Aka anyone know a character who has them perhaps? Elsewise I’m gonna have to go to armor king and reroll

Craft them yourself is the easiest answer to any amour questions. From memory armour plated rags are a good option, and the duster light armor is highly underrated.

Blueprints for ninja/assassin rags can be found at the thieves guild rarely. Duster i think from any clothing shop.

I like the steel Sakkat hat as well. it might not be quite as protective as other options, but it looks great.

Crafting on my run would be extremely hard, look up the impossible run. TLDR -1b cats, basicly all relations -100, you start off limbless in a cannibal village. Plus my global/nests are at max. Found the samurai armor/armor legs from the armor king himself, KO’d him then stole it, and just found mastergrade assassins rags on moll leader of the flotsam ninjas... now I just need the samurai cloth legs

Nothing is guaranteed, the FCS randomly generates stuff based on weighted odds. Best case is you find someone with Specialist and 5% Chance of Masterwork.

Also, how do you even do anything Limbless, or just missing arms?

First playthrough of the impossible run, I spend 3 irl hours waddling my way from a cannibal village to the shrieking forest and then to mongrol. Robotics shop at mongrol has 3 small boxes on top of each other right? Well even without arms you can steal... suffice to say the real journey began after being able to properly move.

Ah, so you do have legs then. I was just wondering because normally when I even lose just 1 leg, my guy(s) can't move at all.
Killer29687 Mar 28, 2019 @ 11:02pm
Nope. No legs or arms, it’s why it took me three in real life hours. Even without legs or arms your guys still move.... just extremely amazingly slowly

Crafting's easy enough, even if your not engaging NPC shops (which apparently you are anyway).

Armour king and that weapon guy in Black City are just cheesy, make the game super easy.

assassins rags due what bindings do but better, 100% vs 80% if I am not mistaken. On my Martial artist I have him wearing the assassins with samurai clothpants, masked helmet, leather turtleneck and drifters boots. There is probably a much more optimized setup but I like the amount of coverage I can get out of that gear while none of it providing any negatives for the stats I am using

A dustcoat is also very good due to it's really good amount of coverage but then you're stuck using bindings for your shirt slot and still taking some damage due to them not being 100%. That being said, the acid and burning resistance on the dust coat is very handy and often I am carrying one around for my martial artist when we're traveling in the deadlands or venge.

light...

i would go clothes, maybe martial art bonus clothes (gi stuff, martial art bindings, stuff like that) and light fed (wooden sandals ftw). maybe some light armor stuff like dust/long coat for dodge bonus...

everything that gives bonus to (combat)speed & dodging should be good...

In a similar vein, anyone know how to get Heavy Armor Smithy as a research tech? I've researched all the way up to robotics and haven't found out the Heavy Armor Smithy tech yet. Can't seem to find what branches into it on the wiki either.

IIRC its level 3 Crafting tech that requires Engineering Research papers to research/

dust coat or long coat give MA bonus and one gives DEF i think.. i know i have some high lev MAs that can solo hordes of fogman on 3x attack that are in long and dust coats, sandals for attack speed, anything that gives offense other than MA also helps.. or after a while a forfeit bindings for chain or leather shirt.. after a certain point 4 or 6 extra points not added to MA doesnt really matter and armor does.

i hate how decent the stats are on armored skirts, i sometimes forfeit numbers for style and high level MA can afford to do it.. armored skirt looks garbage af on a srs char. i supposed i could stat my own clothes now ik the fcs some..

Armor king has trash for Light Armor. Why? Because you can easily get an Armor Smith up to crafting Masterwork Light Armor pretty quickly. Just skill them up on turning Animal Skins into Leather. Kill all the animals you can find until you have a couple hundred of them and you're set to Skill them to 70 or so. After that, make useful stuff like Leather Turtlenecks, which will take awhile. Then some Dustcoats, because they're awesome. Eventually, you'll be Mastercrafting all the Light Armors pretty handily.

Dustcoats are pretty darn awesome: https://kenshi.fandom.com/wiki/Dustcoat

Assassins Rags have great bonuses, but crap coverage. If you're not getting hit, they're great.
