Auto close gate

This really needs to become a thing..

I was just attacked by hungry bandits, and they have no chance of breaking through the gate before they all die.. but my 1 engineer decides hes gotta OPEN the game to repair it.. which means, A) even if the hungry bandits aren't strong enough to break it, it doesn't matter for the next group. B) What the hell is even the point of a gate if your own people decide they don't want to use it?

My gate is level 4, normally closed, set to private and locked. yet it doesn't matter at all.

Why is this even a thing?

If I tell me people to run outside of the gate they refuse if it's closed, but if I leave them alone, they have no problem opening it (regardless if they need to go outside or not)

I would be fine with a button below the lock button that essentially told NPC's and my people to leave it the ♥♥♥♥ alone aside from repairing it.

But an active job to close the gate would be great too as that would help if you have mercs or other guards at your base that decide to picklock your gate.

I agree , the NPC's are opening gates and doors that I want to stay closed . I have a gate on my base to keep banits out , but the NPC's open it sometimes for no reason . Very annoying ! Be nice if there was a lock only I could open , on gates and doors . Or program NPC's the close the gates and doors be hind them . I know this is possible because my Dad program me to do this at an early age :)

Hahahaha luckily we don't have to pay rent and stuff for our people in the game..

Absolutely, at the very least.

You'd expect the turret gunners to yell at the gate guards to close the damn gate so they can do their job.. but no..
