Best light armor?
Hello!
What you guys and girls consider as the best light armor set?

It has good coverage and decent resistances for a light armor though I could be wrong though.

Aye, longcoat or duscoast are pretty decent if you want to have some protection without any penalties. Samurai clothpants for assasins/thieves and drifter plated for combatants, but correct me if I'm wrong. Gas masks are neat as medium armor helmets!

The Equipment in Kenshi is all situational. Just outfit your character with what you think may work with them.... or dont!

Could just dress em all up in prisoner chains & tophats, what could go wrong!? :D

Welp, let's say daily armor to fight raiders?

I put situational equipment on my chars ofc, like sandals or ninja's outskirt.

I didn't seen all the armor in Kenshi yet, as i wasn't in east side of the map.

I've only encountered fog and swamp masks but iirc those are both light armor(?). I could be wrong since I never used them. The rattan/iron hat just looks good on a greenlander with either a longcoat/dustcoat equiped with a katana xD

Get good {pay the cats} faction with the Thieve guild, and they have everything you need in light armour from head to toe. They about tell you what to wear, and a when I was low level I wore the assassins rags, the drifter pants, the drifter boots with the ninja mask. My dex,my blocking,my melee skills were amazing. Now that I am farming recipe books, and have to kill metal spiders/ robots I am in full plate because metal is beating on me over a bandit with cloth armour. So now light armour will get you killed fast.

Also you can go to medium armour if you have a great tank in full plate as the leader taunting, and taking the blows and hardly getting hurt while you hit in the back or side. You don't just pick one skill or wear one type of armour on Kenshi, you can be the jack of all trades.

MY main is a ninja and a warriour when needed. What is so great is you cannot ruin your character by setting it up wrong because you can have any skill you want high as long as you train it. Most games I play they only allow your characters to have one spec.

Kenshi reminds me of playing a MMO using bots {No i never approved of that}, and a you can build your chracters up so strong that it's like having another mate/group playing with you,and you can kill any boss or farm any item with that strong army you built yourself. You don't have to be an expert if you are not skilled at setting up a character because you just use the right gear for the right situation. There is no meta, or no talking to some know it all that has his own meta site, and thinks this is the only way you play. We play how we want to play and we use common sense when gearing our characters. Kenshi is a game you get to think for yourself. This isn't guild wars 2 where there is one meta that everyone will accept, and if you don't you lose. I hated games like that.

@Germania516 i see what you talking about.
I've seen a post where one said that he\she use only light armor on his\her characters and doing very good. That's why i ask about BEST light armor, cause there are still SO MUCH places where i haven't been with my 144hours ingame.
And Kenshi Wiki is outdated.
I've found unique(?) Hiver Soldier in Clownsteady last night with 15stats and i can't find him on wiki or in google cause i don't know how to translate his name from russian to english :)
There are so much hours to play Kenshi!

For MA : dustcoat. For crossbow users : assassin's rags (you can kite and do'nt need much defence).
For everyone else, probably dustcoat ?

For everyone tho, samurai clothpants for the legs :)

Drifters jacket is also nice for more perception if a someone has low cats, and can't make or afford to buy the best.

You use the drifters pants also if you can't find the samurai right away. They are both good but one shines in another stat the other doesn't have.

As far as kiting, you can't kite everything especially security spiders in the floodlands, so I would go full plate with a tank. Yes you can kite in the open but as far as the floodlands you have to keep the spiders on a dry platform, and you can aggro anything metal which will slice your character.

Mate I would get decent gear, train, get your characters skill to at least 50s,and than explore the whole map,and get all the maps from the bars and librarys so you can find the locations to find the good recipes to make the good gear. I would definately take up crafting when you are prepared to because you don't always find on the market what you are looking for. Even if you don't find a meitou or other great item you still can make some great items to hold you over till you find everything need to make you glorious.

Once you get all the recipes to make the best you can massive recruit because you will always have gear for anyone you invite. Also have a great cook to keep up with the food the more you recruit.

Yes you can do great in all light armour but when you are in a closed area fighting metal npcs you do need heavy metal plate because they hit hard. Yes wear light armour for kiting and yes your blocking and dodging does help alot to prevent from having to wear plate but as we explained different situations call for diffferent gear.

I wouldn't even look up locations where NPCS are found,i would make it a story, and go explore, and you will have good gear {Sell grog mate,50 grogs =50k or a bit more cats a run to the shop} the stronger you get so there shouldn't be no rush in finding npcs. Enjoy the game, and create a story as you are adventuring. Pretend you are going on a hunt to find this man.

good luck,and enjoy.....cheers

My whole squad (of 13 Shek) have been wearing Ninja Rags, Samurai Cloth Pants, Martial Arts Bindings, Wooden Sandals and Mask Type III's for probably 100+ in game days. They got beat up a lot at first, but that's what you want. They also carry toothpick crossbows.

Now, with most stats and skills around 50, they take down the large size HN platoons in like 10 seconds. 15, if you count the time it takes to finish off the limbless crawling away.

The best part is when these Holy Nation are defeated, and you know you win at that moment, and in the future when they do come around to persecute you. lol They harrassed your people when you had nothing now you get to have the best revenge, and you can do anything you want to them from looting them,to making sure they never walk again to imprisoning them. I do have a tradition now that I take the inquisator hostage after I take his best gear, and leave him weak.

Also now that I can defend myself against these HN I get very nice plate armour that I can wear when I am farming for recipes from hard metal spiders. I never had to spend one cat on my farming gear that was needed to take a beating from these harder npcs so this is a benefit once you can beat any armoured faction. I have full sets of green high grade holy armour just hanging in cases waiting to be worn by new members. Also just buy some good hacking weapons to go with this armour and you can kill any metal robot with only a few people.

It's great that you can loot on this game because you can get alot of high quality items, and save alot of cats or a trip to a shop that is across the zone because you have bad faction with the one's closer.
