Blood spiders. and tactics.
How the heck do I deal with swarms of these things?

Another thing, how do I get the squad to focus on one target at a time, they just seems to run around like lemmings. Even I tell them to attack target.

Well they have to, because otherwise they would just get attacked from all directions while everyone targets only one. Its better to use "atttack all" when you are engaging a large group of enemies.

As for how to deal with them, you could lower the squad size setting if enemy groups are much larger than yours. Otherwise you just need to keep building up your squad to be stronger and better equipped.

Also, you could just run from them if you are fast enough. One trick ive learned, is that enemies chasing you will often stop if they lose line of sight.

I got a few options for ya:

1. A strong character with good armor and a good quality large weapon (with high AoE)
2. Several decent characters with decent armor and decent quality weapons.
3. A huge swarm of weak characters with shoddy armor and shoddy weapons.
4. Run.

7. Profit

Do or do not, there is no try.

There are sabers that deal +100% damage to spiders.

Every your squad member can attack only one enemy at a time. So the enemies can attack only one of your squad members.
There are mods that allow your squad members attack up to 5 vs 1 target.

tbh, you don't need to deal with spiders. just don't go to their area :)

So far my tactics has been option #4. Works great! (Just don't cross any body of water, that don't work so good).

Crossbows, and spread your guys out so they don't hit each other or get splash damage.

Planks, follow leader and hold works pretty well, especially if you decide to visit Arach.

Tactics of mine to deal with blood spiders are
Sneak around at night with high stealth skills
Either capture or lure beak things to blood spiders so beak things can eat em.

Or train somewhere else. Then go back here and watch how spiders means nothing now

Indeed from experience (having done a base in the swamp before) crossbows wipe out spiders hilariously easy, if you also get your troops athletics up just a little then the slowish blood spiders will be useless.

Bloodspiders hit hard, but are slow & frail. So even a novice with a crossbow can bring them down with just a little kiting. Easy solution thankfully.

Well, there is places with those ancient books and such needed for research.. and.. one I found had a large pack of spiders there. I maxed out what I can at tier 3 research. Need to find these books to advance :/

So if, combat only work at 1 vs 1 at all times, then BLOCK option should be beneficial?

if you have some strong characters and some weak, yes, if not wont be good, because the spiders wil lbeat you anyways

What do you mean "run and die in the process"? Blood spiders are slow. I don't know why, but they are. Beak things are what you should really worry about.

I noticed they hit your legs most of the time. Getting your hands on a pair of plate boots with very high cut protection is quite easy. You can pair it with a chest item that also covers your legs and they will be doing minimal damage to you...
