Running versus Walking
Simple question, I run an outpost that more or less survives off of refining and then selling iron plates. For my day to day activities, is there any benefit to having my workers walk to various positions instead of sprinting?

Walking would be a little more realistic way to get around unless theres an emergency. If you aren't into roleplaying 100% of the time, there is no reason to ever walk.

Even in a squad with characters of varied athletics skill theres no reason to walk, just set the movement speed to the last one (it has 2 people running on it), which sets your people to run at the speed of the slowest person in the squad.

According to another thread I've seen here, Athletics and Strength gains are based on the time spent moving rather than on the distance moved, so having them walk would presumably train up Strength, at least, faster than if they run everywhere and then stand around waiting for a new task. Athletics I'm less sure about because that has a +50% bonus for running full speed and may (I've never checked) have a similar penalty for walking, so those adjustments may be strong enough to cancel or reverse any benefit from walking taking longer.
