Looking for a good place to get ancient books and engineering research

So I've noticed the Ashlands are by far the best spot to get AI cores, by now I'm actually drowning in them. Problem is I can't get to key technologies like Hydroponics because I can't find enough engineering research and ancient books. Can anyone point me to an area or specific spot where I can find a lot? I'd prefer finding them but buying is okay as well. I know that the scraphouse sells a few (do they restock?) and so does a shop in World's End.

Hi. Scraphouse only restock upon import. So does the shop in World's End. EB can be found in Ancient Workshop. If you been to Scraphouse you will pass some in Deadlands. They also can be found in Ancient Technical Lab. ASB can be found in ASL. There are two ATL that I know. There are other AW & ASL too all over the map. Travel a bit to find them or use the map showing all the locations. Good luck.

Found a vendor inside a Shek village selling them. Just went in during the night and stole 30 Research Books from them.
Also got a bunch of maps leading to more as some extra profit : )

I mean the ancient tech books, not the ones you can buy at engineering vendors, normal books restock :). I usually also steal all the regular books hehe.

Always bought a lot of them in the Hub and Rebel Base next door. They stock both regulary, not always but pretty often.

Strange Town in SE area sells Ancient Books and Engineering Research too.

No, not that common book, what you looking for blue book, not brown book, and red paper as well, and a.i core, well very big spot, I think 9 square, it's look like jets with red with part mostly dark gray/blue/black mix.

There are nearly always blue books and engineering research to buy. 100% positive they are not the regular ones.

Maybe I used a mod that changed something though :/

99% sure that's a mod, traders don't restock anything above regular books. I'll likely use a similiar mod for my next playthrough but for this one I want the full exploration experience :p

Yep, must be mod, official unmod latest version, Hub and Rebel Base only sold common low end science book (brown book), not ancient science book (Blue book), engineering research (redprint, not greenprint, blueprint, goldprint, all other print is mostly weapons, few building), AI Core.
