seems when groups come to your base they raid your food stores if you keep them in a basket.
And those attacks are infrequent.
Sound weird that they would tribute
Theres also the tech hunter that roam around this place and they are emptying my shop counter :)
Yea, I do like the Tech Hunters personally.
The last time i settlet in their territory, was after i captured the Bugmaster to turn him in in Admag, which instantly makes you an ally to the kingdom (75 in the overview, i think). Krals Chosen showed up here and there, but the Kingdom never demanded food.
not complaining though
edit: they started to move again after reloaded the game :-(
Settling in the north parts of the swamp straddling the borderlands is a good option, assuming you build your first building from your outpost in the swamp, the game will tag your outpost there. The hounds took AGES to show up and when they did, they asked me to sell some hashish for them. They threaten to come and kill you if you don't run drugs for them within the week, but they infrequently show up and only ask for 2,000 cats... which is nothing even early game, and practically couch change by the time your outpost is even remotely established.
Plus, when you settle in the borderlands/swamp area you can get a hold of every resource for your outpost, minus ariable land for growing greenfruit and cotton (not needed since you can grow rich, wheat, cactus, hemp and all the water you need). The only slight draw back is there is no good position for stone mining, best I found was 50%. I did a good bit of scouting and prospecting before I decided to settle, so there might be a better spot, but I love my outlaw borderland/swamp outpost between Squin and Shark.
Yeah that's how they tax people..... they don't steal it. They take it as compensation for you residing within their territory. If anything it's the second best option imo.
United Empires take a regular tax of cats.
Holy Nation expects you to attend Sunday prayers every Sunday with The Holy Flame in hand or else the Inquisition will smite your little outpost.
Eventually what I'm guessing will happen is the tribute round will time out and the game will tell you "Shek tribute round has ended." That or it will never time out and be on the way indefinitely.
If you get a message that the tribute round has failed or been defeated though, check the factions screen to see if a follow up raid is scheduled. I think those should only trigger if they are beaten in combat, which doesn't really happen to the shek on their own lands unless they run into scores of skin spiders down in bugmaster territory.
As for taking 100% of your food, they only take as much as they can carry. If you have a big enough stockpile they won't be able to take it all. Eventually I gave them the bugmaster to make them allies. It's a pretty tough hoop to jump through just to get them to stop flexing on you, but they are basically in love with you after that, as long as you aren't allied with another major faction.
That's not how it's work, if no one on the land, it's not their territory, as far as i am concerned, if anyone settle on land that no one hold territory, it's their territory, not belong to most powerful faction who didn't hold land in first place, often they spot outpost then they simple bully little outport, calming it's their territory but that is lie because they didn't settle that spot of land in the first place, so it's wasn't their territory to begun with.
P.S, basic they are stealing by using bigger power bully on little power, it's like bigger family of 10 come in and said to family of 2 said it's all thier, because they got bigger family.
Lol wut?
