That said, having continuous 50 miniutes fight is strange.
I restarted the game and loaded save from 2 hours ago and the camp said DEAD and the infinite spawning was fixed luckily.
I even met this behaviour again when I cleaned another camp (saying DEAD), but roaming population was growing like 10-20-40 etc. So I gave up and immediately loaded previous save and ran away, because I already knew where this was going... :D
Or take a couple people with Naginata Katanas, about the only thing that weapon class is good for is Fogman hunting.
There was a constant stream of Fogmen groups. I don't know if there was, at the time, some sort of "shared aggro" that functioned to call all the other groups or not. (This was several patches ago.) I didn't have any mods installed at the time, either. I don't remember how long the continuous engagement lasted, but it ended with me running for Mongrel. Athletics > ALL
I could have, perhaps, continued combat through one more group. But... I was tired. I have no idea how long the entire engagement lasted from start to bug-out, but I was getting bleary-eyed. No more room in character's backpacks for loot, several characters being carried...
Ammo low = time to go :)
PS - I haven't had this happen again. It could have maybe been some kind of glitch-on-first-load or something deeper, dunno. But, the next time I see a literal "train" of Fogmen all beelining for my position, I'll know I had better be prepared for a real fight. (The prior experience included a "Conga Line" sort of formation of Fogmen, all running to where the combat is occurring, seemingly with each individual having it's own "goto" coordinate. Kind of strange for Kenshi.)
