looking for towns with good stores
Greetings,

I'm currently looking for some NPC vendors that stock good weapons and armor. I've been in the shek lands and I find that they mostly sell the heaviest of weapons. To the south in Clownsteady, they seem to have very nice crossbows. I wasn't too impressed with the Hub's limited selection. So, I'm looking for recommendations on other towns we should visit. I've bought a ton of maps so I know where most cities are. Consider this advice just a tip from a friendly wandering trader or two : )

I'm primarily looking for decent katanas, staffs and light armor but any tips will do. Thanks in advance!

Mongrel, Scrapyard (in the Deadlands) and Armour King are my usual go-to's for equipment. You typically find equipment on the higher standards there - Mark III weapons common at Scrapyard along with a bunch of Masterwork crossbows, and Armourking usually has at least a few pieces of Masterwork gear.

Edge type weapons are rarer though, you can see them from time to time but sometimes I think it's better to just loot outposts and armouries for them instead of trader hopping. Or bypass it all and head straight for Meitou if you think you're tough enough.

Armourking in particular is found in a ruin in the river in the...I think it's called Wend, region, the big river North of the Holy Nation plains etc, where they eternally war the River Raptors. Takes a while swimming there but it's worth it, he pretty much stocks a whole bunch of Masterwork longcoats and samurai gear etc.

Sometimes you find nice stuff in World's End and one of the United Cities towns has a helmet trader too.

When the game releases fully, I hope someone remakes a comprehensive shop guide. The wiki is really lacking, same with the community guides section.

Mongrel is probably the most accessible if you don't mind the fog.

Weapon shop in Heng and armor shop in Heft are good for early game. Good stuff and not more dangerous than the border zone.

Thanks for all the comments and advice everyone! I ended up going north to Mongrel. It was a bit of a long journey but I didn't run into a single battle somehow. Upon arrival to the town, I found several nice vendors. Picked up a few masterwork pieces of armor and it's great that the town has a "clothing" vendor for lighter items. Spent a ton of cats, also picked up some better katanas. I hope to visit the armor king since I"m close. I did one fight with the fogmen. Although my group is better than them, the battle turned quite chaotic since they are just a huge horde. We were winning every fight but sometimes a fogman would beatup a lone member and start carrying them off.. Really annoying TBH. Any suggested tactics besides not fighting them at all?

They dont have any loot, we already have plenty of cats. Even after carting off 8 princes heads, it would just be easier stealing in shek territory. Not sure why I would want to fight such annoying battles?
