Get them sandals and gear that doesn't impede athletics and have them practice running from one end of Mongrel to the other until they are fast enough to out run fogmen... good luck.

also hire mercs.... but generally speaking, you better slow down in Kenshi or you will be punished:-)

Going into the Fog Islands early requires having decent athletism. Everywhere early requires good athletism, tbh.
So since you just got Beep with you it means he's currently a stick.

Have your fastest character pull the hordes away and make a run for it, while the other(s) run like hell out of the fog.
Fogmen are very weak as long as you don't pull warriors in, it only takes a bit of fighting experience for just a couple characters with ok gear to prevail, so even if they pull some aggro out of the fog with them, it's not so hard to deal with it.

If nobody is fast enough then you're going to have to leave some stuff behind, or if really you don't want to, then train athletism inside Mongrel.
You might be able to hire mercenaries (not recruits, temporary mercenary squad at the bars) to escort you out too.

You only need to run 19 MpH to outrun them. Sandals and athletics are all you need.

He just got Beep and is trying to get him out, which i assume is why he has difficulties outrunning them.
He starts with absolutely no skills whatsoever which means something like 11mph top speed.
Other possibility would be to have some strong enough to carry him out without encumbrance, but from OP's text it seems he's very early game.

Also, beginners tend to overlook light gear in favor of more armor without the strength for it, meaning they're slow and don't rain athletism well.

Beep starts at 18 MpH. Hivers have a higher base speed than any other race

Your options are as follows:

1) Have Beep and his friend run around in circles inside mongrel until their atheletics is high enough to outrun the fogmen

2) Have Beep and his friend sneak around mongrel until their sneak skill is high enough to sneak out one night. You can combine this with option 1 because higher stealth characters move pretty quickly with high athletics.

3) Reimport, and select the reset squad positions option, but keep all your research buildings and whatnot.

4) Send in somebody with high athletics and strength to carry them out of Mongrel and drop them off somewhere safe

5) Build a rescue party in another town and provide them with an escort while Beep and his friend party it up at the bar in Mongrel.

6) Hire some mercenaries?

7) There's probably more, but one or more combinatations of the above 6 suggestions will work.

the reason im there is via a mod that starts you with 30 people on raptor island and with mongrel being the closest city i tried to make a run to it and getting in wasnt to bad its getting out of it im having issues with
it was clan of nobodies from keks 16 alternate starts

on the topic of cities is there any other ones that are closer or is there just mongrel?

If you're very new to the game you should probgably stay away from mods for a bit, at least until you feel more familiar with basic designs.

You can buy maps in travel supplies shop. There are quite a few different types of maps, each will add various cities and other infrastructures markers on your own.

If you really want to spoil yourself then you can still check kenshi's wiki, but i really recommend you enjoy that one time where everything is new because it only happens once.

sacrifice half of ur team, the remain run away. In Fog island, more member= more food
Tarsis Dec 1, 2018 @ 2:20pm
1. Buy cheap house
2. Build ore storage in house
3. Select your fastest character and shift-right-click the ore storage and select "haul to"
4. Move this character just near enough to the gate that you can see the giant iron resource (there is one RIGHT outside one of the gates), and shift-right-click this resource to start mining it for ore.

(if you swap the Haul-to and the mining he won't haul each ore individually, so if you need money more than athletics, drag haul to under mine)

5. Have the rest of your squad shift-right-click bodyguard that miner-hauler
6. When athletics is semi reasonable (whatever feels enough for you) select the miner hauler and click "sneak" -now everyone will practice stealth while still gaining athletics.

While this is happening, you may sell extra ore for food. You may need to occasionally run your team to the gate for support from the guards. You will need to be careful that your doofus team does not enter a shop at night. If a team member has plenty of athletics, load them up with extra ore to gain strength.

Make sure to loot any Fogman Princes you see for thier heads!

7. Leave Mongrel with a tough, strong, fast, stealthy, wealthy (or well geared) team.

EDIT: Now I want to start another new game in Mongrel, just to relive old times.

Or you can try following one of the mongrel patrols that leave the town, or a trader. The traders leave the islands and head west into Dreg, the patrols just meander around. When you get to the edge of the fog make a run for it.
