Anyway to remove dropped items completely ?
My base is scattered with dropped items, gonna be tedious to remove every single one of them ...

I'm not sure, but try adding someone as a permanent job to the item furnace?
This might only get rid of body limbs though, I can't remember for sure.

Item furance good way to recycle any weapons and gears into iron ores. Dropped items should eventually disappear in time, I think maybe in few days.

Import always worked for me. Be prepared to lose prisoners and such though.

Clothes will burn in the item furnace. I burn up all the non-armor clothes characters come equpped in. I wish we had a trash/drop box in our inventory.

What if you take a character and start moving away from your base and when you get far enough from your base (far enough to the point the base is no longer in viewing distance of your travelling character), save the game while the camera is focused on your traveling character and reload.

In the past that will automatically remove all items on the ground outside the saved area. This means prisoners in your base will also despawn in previous versions but not sure if they have fixed it or not. If you give it a try, please let us know if it works or not.

This probably will work but should be the work of the developers to remove this issue. Im sure its not that hard to implement

Some people like to drop their items temporarily for certain reasons. Them disappearing magically isn't ideal just because you'd ratehr not clean up after yourself.

Stop being a litter bug if you don't like stuff lying about &/or get cleaning after you make a mess lol ;o))

I think I've read somewhere in the past that there is a timer for the items to despawn after a period of time. I think I read it about the time limb amputation is first implemented since people started to complain how the limbs starting to stack up and lagging the game or something like that.

Not sure if they have figured out the balancing on how long should it take for the items to despawn naturally tho. If you constantly get into a fight near your base and the area is always loaded, I can totally imagine how badly the item pile up could be.
