Recruiting Humans

Hello, I am curious as I have begun playing lots of kenshi again....

Is it possible to recruit only humans and where might they be more prevalent?
I'm not trying to endorse any segregation etc, just curious due to the existing prejudices among the npc factions, if I wanted to create a humans only group, is this even possible?

Almost every recruit I find are Hive, I've got 1 human (started with) and 5 hivers now. My current game started near SW edge of map and I am currently settled in the NW side of the map and the trend continues. Is there a portion of the map inhabited by more humans?

sure you can recruit humans only.

for example if you are looking for lots of humans you can either buy / free slaves (who are human only afaik)

I've tried dealing with slaves, do I require a research for the stuff to work? I have put 2 guys in cages at my base, but see no options to enslave them, nor have I been able to acquire the control/ownership of slaves I've released from shackles (I also cant shackle anyone, its like they break when I take them off). I suspected I required some sort of slavery research, is that true or is my game broken somehow?

i meant breaking slaves out from existing slave/stone camps or going to slave shops in the UC and "buying" them. note that this only gives you a chance for them to join.

recruiting prisoners from your cages is only possible with the mod Recruitable Prisoners.

I think Holy Nation bars have mostly if not all human recruits.

Holy nation bars only have human recruits.

They are also found in most any bars except in shek cities and black desert city.

Recruit prisoner mod is one way to get all humans easily.

Once u get the mod, if u dont want to have exploit the system, u can recruit low level captured soldiers like dust bandits which has low stats and work from there :) Even better they have 10+ pt skill on each weapon which i think is convenient if u want your characters to master a specific weapon and it has a balance skill weapon start

Thanks for the answers, I almost decided to use the mod but decided not to, I just needed to know how it worked. Started a new game and ended up in The hub to start again, followed traders through the swamps ganking their kills gear and evenutally limped back to Hub, recruited same freebie female Shek as before (Forgot real name, I call her t i t s ). Now I'm back in Heft and I bought a UC Map this time, I think I see the slave 'stone' camps, might try to steal slaves from there eventually, tryin to find a decent farmable area (near water?) to start my base up.

So is it impossible to take slaves just by shackling them? Like the slave traders do? I may just buy them then...

I have 3 released inmates from the Squin jail that joined me, a Hungry Bandit (renamed Hungary) and 2 Dust Bandits (renamed Dusty and Bandito) and am NOT running the mod for prisoner recruiting.

Just pick lock on the jail cells and some of the inmates will follow you. Take the road out of town a ways and watch for dialogue. Most of them will run off talking about being free again but occasionally one will join.

There's more human, including scorchlander, recuits at Flotsam village and Crab Town. I got several from those places. They have good stats. Sometimes when recuits offer themselves for cheap or free, they actually do have good stats. Like Imzumi in Heft for 2,500 cats already has good medic and research skills.

Just found the northern port city, bark or something like that, lots of humans/scorch, pretty dangerous (outlaws, skimmers, manhunters) but the soil is fertile, plenty of copper/iron deposits etc, loving it there.

I did have a run in due to having a Hiver with me, City hero group started yelling and stalking us so I ran towards the guards, who promply massacred them, got something like 15,000 cats off their corpses and all my crew got new armor :)

Only problem so far, they dont sell backpacks here.
