Can you ally with bounties?
I have a 48 reputation with the Shek Kingdom because I've handed in so many bounties to them. I tried to hand in the last one to reach 50 which should prompt ally status but they did not accept the bounty for some reason. Now maybe all their cages were used up or something, but I'm curious if this is a valid way to ally with a faction, by bringing them bounties until you reach 50 rep. Any answers on this? Thanks.

Yes, you can ally through bounties, but they won't accept bounties if their cages are full at the police station.

If you are able go for Bugmaster. Sure guaranteed alliance with Shek. Down side is will lose faction withe the other two. Bugmaster is a very, very tough fight. Can cause perma death for your crew.

Turning in bounties at most places usually give you 2 rep points. But turn in bugmaster would give you 100 repuation with shek if you aren't ally with trader guild, UC. Shek has bounty for Phoenix too but not sure how much rep. Easiest way but expensive is to capture a npc of said faction and sell or put in cage at slave shop then buy this slave, repeatedly. Be sure to close the door at slave shop so this slave won't flee out. If slavers from their farms show up to replenish slaves from slave shops, be sure to keep your slave on your back until they leave the zone.

Most factions would give you 4 rep points after you buy "freeing" their npc from slavery as you don't lose rep points for putting them in cage at slave shop. There are few factions that do mind if you put one of theirs in cages at slave shop such as slave hunters which has more rep penalty than reward. But if you stealth knock down a group of slave hunters, wait for manhunters or slave traders to capture them then follow them to slave shop to buy them. Takes longer but slave hunters aren't worth it anyway.

Rebel soilders do have rep penalty for putting in cage but still have more reward after buying, for example putting one of theirs in cage would cost you 2 rep points but buying one of theirs would reward you 4, indeed more expensive if they cost around 5,000-10,000 cats while 2 rep points per boost every time. There's no penalty for rebel farmers.

Every time you buy slaves from slave traders, your rep with them would go up too then Tinfist of anti-slavers won't talk to you after you're ally with slave traders. You can provoke an attack on any slavers to bring your rep with them down below 50 then flee so you would be able to talk to Tinfist. But don't go below 0 so you can continue doing business with slavers. Avoid ally with UC, trader guild, manhunters, any slavers, prolly even bounty hunter factions if you want to be ally with anti-slavers.

you dont need to put them in the cage, just put them on the ground and let the slavers do their thing, no rep hit

Indeed but if npc slave is unconscious lying on the floor outside of cage then it won't show up on slaver's shopping list. Often unconscious slave can be more useful for buying rep exploit depending on factions or individual's relationship with players or slave traders.

they usually put them in the cage while unconscious, tho if you want to buy them you need to wait till they are recovered so they can walk away with you.turning them in yourself im pretty sure you have a 0% to recruit them when freeing them , but if all you want is rep then that doesnt matter. i have a playthrough where i am allied to the red sabres and swamp ninjas getting my recruits this way
