Clothing Manufacture - Why bother?
With most clothing having no use beyond allowing you to reduce the looks like a slave quality, why include benches to craft it? I haven't gotten into crafting armor yet, so maybe I'm missing something. Are the cargo pants used in the recipe to craft the [sneaky chain] version later? Is the bandana part of making a Hachigane?

Bandanas are super easy and profitable, you can make a ton from a single unit of cloth and once you're making specialist with a chance to pop a masterwork you can wipe out whole towns of their cats with your prospering headband clothing brand.

Oh, well that's certainly a thought that hadn't occurred to me.

There's a reason for everything. :D

Make sure to keep raising your armor crafting skill as you eventually make Shoddy -> Standard -> High grade which is where I'm at now. Very profitable and great to use, too.

I'm using the Enchanced Survival Challenge mod which will probably rule that out as a sensible method of profit, but I can see it being an easy money maker for Vanilla. It basically comes down to changes in the water table, crop growth & harvest time, etc, so the labor required to do it might be a bit much. I'll still look into it though as soon as I've got the resources to try.

For the moment, leather goods can crafted in the safety of a town like Broken Teeth. Maybe with a few thousand more cats I'd buy the farm house out on the road to Blister Hill and leech their cotton fields, as the npc farms there aren't subject to the same restrictions. I don't have to water them and the npcs don't touch them. The only downside is that I can't automate the storage of the crops, because the game doesn't consider them my farms... at least, I don't think it will allow that. It's always a 100% chance to steal marked on those, although once you have the goods, you can turn around and sell them to the farmer. I guess he appreciates the labor?

(makes it easy to set up and start early game, just buy a house, research till you get armor crafting, get the cheap blue print and start making money)

You can make samurai clothpants there, which is the best leg armor without penalties and has stomach coverage.

Btw why is everyone typing "enchanced" when they mean "enhanced" recently? Seriously, it's an epidemic. Is that some stupid meme or something?

I suspect it's bleed from fantasy games and all of their "enchanted" items getting mixed up with other kinds of "enhanced" gear.

I see what you're talking about, and the answer is that I made a typographical error. I do wonder how I did that though, given that the C key isn't in a place you'd think would cause that. Perhaps it's due to the proximity of my thumb to the space bar, and my finger just tapped it? It'll remain a mystery to me.

Clothing and armor crafting become much more fun when you have this mod 'Coloured Clothes Redux' :happyhearthling:

I happened to notice that there are also colored versions of some of the stuff already in the game. I'm usually not interested in color variety, but I can appreciate that some people enjoy that. I also like that the plated jacket has 3 variations, each with it's own benefits & drawbacks. I don't think I would choose to invest in all 3 blueprints, but it's nice to know you have the choice if you really want to use one version over another for color, or for stat impact.

You are not fooling anybody. You are one of them!

Maybe there's some grand conspiracy to merge the two words, but I'm not in on it, honest. *walks off, and can be heard speaking in hushed tones around the way* "....think he bought it? No. No. *unintelligible* ... told me... say. Please... and kids...!" *walks back in* *cough* Right, so like I was saying, nothing to see here. Move along. Please...? *keeps glancing back over his shoulder nervously*

i would assume, for Roleplay issues that bench is mandatory. and yes samu cloth pant and slave disguise. also versatile for using 2 smith´s . one for the money , the other for the troops.

Funny question. Where else do you craft shoes?
