OP way of training crossbow skill.
I have a 14 man squad, 3 are crossbowmen and on day 41 they bow skills were at 22, 17 and 7 and going up painfully slow. We had just travelled through Leviathan Coast and had seen tons of beak things there so I had the idea to set up a storm house there, put the bowmen on the roof and shoot at the passing beak things. So we went to the east coast of the Leviathan Coast just north of Cannibel Plains and 5 guys with 100% effective stealth were able to get the building built without getting attacked, we got the whole squad in and put the bowman on the roof.

Beak things came around and we shot at them but we ended up having a fast runner kite a lot of them back to the building which worked fine. Along the way I noticed that the bowman were gaining skills just aiming even when the bt's were out of range!

Ok, I'm sure that some know about this, I didn't as this is the first time I've really tried to use crossbows. But then an interesting thing happened. The leviathans came. They are so big and move so slow, you can aim at them from a mile away, when they get close enough you can hit them they start to move away so slowly and then you can still aim at them for miles. The bowman aimed at them constantly for hours never shooting shots.

In less than 24 game hours the bow skills went from 22, 17, 7 to 51, 45, 42. I had brought a 4th bow and looked for someone to give it to at some point in the day and found I had a character with 36 bow skill that I hadn't notice (facepalm) and she got her skill to 49. Even more their perception improved tremendously too. I don't know what they started at but the day ended with perception at 56, 54, 50, 50 and I know they were nothing special at all beforehand. The only one I know for sure is the 4th bowman that started at 34 and ended at 56 while only using the bow less than half the day. The others who used the bow all day were probably from near zero to 15 at the max.

It was a wild kenshi day, kiting beak things, even kiting leviathans, beak things and garus fighting all over the place. At days end I had 72k worth of animal skins, 67.2k of beak thing eggs, 3 leviathan pearls for 36k and a food store 90% full of meat. And the bow skills I had come for.

So the best target you can aim at for the longest is the leviathan. OP as hell.

I would expect their precision hasn't gone up though.
I had a guy with very high crossbow skill from intercepting HN raids but unfortunately his precision was only about 4 which meant when he was fighting with his squadmates he would outright one-shot them or pop their arms and legs off instead of hitting the enemy.
OP is fun but not always useful.

The precision did go up but not by a lot like the other skills. I assume that it went up while kiting bk's and leviathans. I made sure the kiters went across the line of fire and they never got hit, but precision did go up some. So it seems that precision goes up if you are shooting in the area of friendlies but don't hit them unlike the description says. I will do some excercises to either prove or disprove that.
